Part 69

Alec’s POV

It’s been 3 weeks since the incident, and she still hasn’t woken up yet, around the second day I started to worry. I wish she’d just wake up, we’re all waiting for here, and everyone visits her at least once a day. I still stay in the same spot, by her side waiting for her. Everyone’s worrying about me, Alex, or both, mostly both though. I haven’t eaten much, or slept at all. Everyone made me get up and go take a shower, saying she wouldn’t like it if I smelled bad when she woke up.

“She’ll wake up really soon. I can tell.” Marie tried to reassure me.

I only nodded not looking up from Alex’s lifeless face. I stroked her hair, whispering for her to wake up, that I loved her, that I needed her, anything that would make her want to wake up.

“She’s just recuperating. The poison took a lot out of her, plus she trained like crazy while it was in her system, draining her even more, and she had to teleport you guys all the way over her and back. I’m surprised she didn’t pass out.” Maria informed.

“She’s just reenergizing herself; she’ll wake up when she’s fully rested. This isn’t the poison’s work anymore.” Mary told me.

That relieved me a little, because I was worried the poison had killed her, but at least that wasn’t the case. She’ll wake up, which is good, but how long will it take?! It’s been a week. I miss her.

My eyes were becoming heavy, since I only slept an hour each day, and soon they became too heavy for me so I finally let sleep take over. I dreamed of, no other than, Alex. I hoped she would wake up. I wished to have her by my side once again.

Alex’s POV

I don’t know how long I had been like this, but I couldn’t move and everything was pitch black. My first thought was, am I dead? Then I heard something, a beeping, that sounded strangely like a heart monitor, which took me a second to realize that it was. I tried to wake up by feeling my eyes, which took a while, but when I finally felt them, I opened them to see a dimly lit room.

I surveyed my surroundings, and landed on Alec, with his arms resting on the edge of my bed and his head lying on them. He had bags under his closes eyes, telling me he hadn’t slept in a long time, probably worrying about me again. He looked skinnier than normal, indicating to me that he hadn’t been eating right either, again worrying about me. He smelled fine, telling me he had recently taken a shower.

I stroked his hair, wondering how long I had been asleep. Slowly, Alec woke up. As soon as he did though, he freaked.

Alec’s POV

I felt my hair being stroked, and thought who it could have been. Alex was the only one that did that to me. I woke up slowly, loving the feel of their hands in my hair. As soon as I opened my eyes, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

“Alex!!!” I yelled.

Everyone in the house was here in less than a couple of seconds. She sat there, weakly smiling down at me. I couldn’t help but let relief take over my body. I was so glad she was awake now. I hadn’t seen those pretty water blue eyes in forever.

“Alex!!” Everyone yelled.

They all crowded around her to make sure that she really had woken up. I just sat by her bedside, calm and collected now that she was awake. She smiled up at me, telling me she was alright.
