We pulled up to a glass building, that looked something like a school. Fiona told me and Darla to stay out, while she went into the building for a quick moment. I saw this as a great opportunity to talk to Darla and try to gain more insight of this beloved family.

"Hey, Darla, are you okay?" She was oddly quiet and in her case, actions speak louder than words was true.

"Oh, yeah, I'm just tired." I sat up, pushing my back off of the seat.

"Darla, how did you end up in this family?"

"How did I end up in the family?" She played with the necklace around her neck that I hadn't really noticed before.

"Y-yeah. I mean, everyone has a story, right? What's yours?" She was totally out of it, or maybe in deep thought. I anticipated her answer, maybe it would help me figure things out. Darla opened her mouth to speak.

"I was a really sweet girl, I cared about everyone and anyone... I still do. You know, I was in school, I was a at the top of the class and everyone always came to me for help. I couldn't help, but feel as if something was missing. When you're at the top, everything is different, you're more lonlier than you would've been at the bottom if you do t have someone to share life with. Well, one day I went to a party to explore new parts of life and I met this guy, who told me about his job and how he was saving lives as he put it."

"Phillip..." She nodded.

"Well, the more he talked, the more hooked I became. He introduced to this blond girl and at first, she made fun of me, but then it was weird how the more I talked, her and Phillip would whisper amonst themselves. She eventually came along we exchanged numbers. She tried to teach me to be what I wasn't, but got frustrated when her ways wouldn't stick, so she confided in Phillip and he said he had a plan. He gave me a job at the club and one night, when I was working the bar, he came up to me flirting and charming me, and then the next thing you know..."

Her voice trailed off, but I had already put two and two together. "You hooked up, and you've been inseparable ever since." She shook her head.

"It wasn't always like this. In fact......"

"Hey, girls! Talk about a ything interesting while I was gone?" Darla claimed up like a mute and I hated that Fiona came back on such an inconvenient time.

"No." Darla managed to say and then returned to the deepest part of her quietness.

"Well, we're just waiting on the guys and then we can get our tickets and head in."

"Tickets? For a banquet?" Fiona puts on lipstick, while looking in the mirror.

"They determine where we sit." She says nonchalantly.

"I thought we were all sitting together." I look at Fiona, my hair hanging to one side.

"Well, darling, you thought wrong."

How did we even make it here before the boys, weren't they in front of us? Then, I remembered what Fiona had said to the boys about a Lucas. Who was this Lucas?

With Fiona in the car, there was so much tension and silence, it felt like we were at a funeral of a dead man, and we were the people.that killed him, hoping no one ratted us out. Darla refused to make eye contact with Fiona and who glance at me through the side mirror, occasionally.

"What's wrong with you, Darla, why so quiet?" Fiona spoke with such power, she was like a female version of Danny. I don't know, maybe it's because you switched up and yelled at her, not to mention putting her business out there.
