As the doors opened to Studio C, I perked up. I rushed over to Fiona's side and my anxiousness took over my cool. "Was she there? Did you find anything? Well, was she?!" Staring into her phone, Fiona showed nothing, but lack of interest.
"Don't you think that she would be walking out with me, if she was in there." Sadness rose in me and I began to back down. Going into her pocket, Fiona pulled something out of her back pocket. "This was in there though."
In my hands, I held Jess's phone. I couldn't stop shaking my head. "Wait, why would she be without her phone?"
"Maybe she knew you were trying to track her. She probably doesn't want to be found." Freezing, I look at Fiona, eyes wide. Could she be right, does Jessa not want me to find her?
Unlocking Jessa's phone, I began to go through it, all that was in there were unread text messages from her parents, Ava and Kennedy. "Wait a minute, that's how we'll find her!" I whispered the words like it was the discovery on how to cure the common cold.
"You know how to find her, finally! I can go home, soon. So, how'd you figure it out?!" Fiona became pumped, jumping up and down like a boxer in the ring, loosening her muscles.
"Through Kennedy. They're best friends, right?! Kennedy has to know where she is."
"Uhh....Danny, I don't think that's a good idea. I watched Jessa ignore Kennedy's call or text once, it didn't seem like Jessa wanted to talk to her."
"Well, what other choice do we have?" I stare Fiona down, daring her to reject me. It's a look I've always given her since we were little and she knows that when I give her that look. It's not time to play.
Stomping her foot, and throwing a miniature tantrum, Fiona wines. "Man, I just want to go home!" Taking a stance, I nod in satisfaction.
"Let's go."
"Kennedy better know where she's at too."
"Whatever."
I drove with one hand on the wheel and the other rubbing my chin. Turning the stereo up loud, I tried to drown out my sorrows, but it just wasn't happening. My eyes remained focused on the road, but my mind was somewhere else.
I need some real good lovin'
Cause I'm troubled by the things I see
I need some real good lovin'
Cause ain't nobody been around here lovin' on me....Nodding my head to the music, I became lost in it's words. Taking a deep breath, the lyrics hit my heart. Suddenly, my calmness became disrubted as the music became faint. "Did you really just turn my music down?"
Fiona looked at me, eyes full of knowledge. I was always amazed how cold and comforting Fiona could be, at the same time, without really letting it show. "What's up with you Danny, you haven't been the same lately."
"I'm just focused, alright." Fiona shook her head, the look upon her face was stern.
"No, Danny, you're not. You were focused months ago, but then you fell off and after you fell off, you met Jessa and then you ceased to exsist. She's poison to you."
"No, Fiona!" I choked back the truth, until it became a lump in my throat. Pushing back the tears and memories, I, slowly, pulled the car over.
"You want the truth? I was lifeless, Fiona, lifeless! Before I met Jessa, I didn't have any goals, I didn't have anything to live or fight for..."
