Upstairs it was quiet and the only noise to be heard, were the rustling of the covers as I slowly, slid out of the bed. Looking back, Danny was still sleeping and I didn't want to disturb him.

Taking a shower, I put on the clothes I originally had, the day I came here. I wouldn't want any of them to think I was stealing from them. Collecting the keys Danny gave to me, and the keys, of my own. I leave Danny's room and head over to the door, leading to the steps.

"Going somewhere?" As I heard that cold, harsh, spite filled voice, disgust filled me.

"What do you want, Lucas?" I turned to face him, as he had this crooked smile on his face.

"I just find it strange how Danny finds you, at a café. Takes one look at you, decides you're perfect and then makes you the face of a company that we've put our whole lives in, all in less than a week." I hadn't known Lucas long, but I knew him long enough to be sick of all the crap he was giving me.

"Lucas, stop. You're giving me so much mouth about how you hate that I'm here, but mind you I'm here trying to help you. You love this company so much, right? Than what is it, that you question the one person that's actually trying to help your dream come true. What kind of person just ups and leaves everything they had for a complete stranger?" I step close to him, challenging him and his jaw tightens.

"The devil was once an angel, right? What is it that you're getting out of this?" His words fly to me like swords.

"There's just one thing you forgot. I'm no devil, or an angel, I'm mortal. I never gave any indication that I wasn't. Now if you excuse me." Heading back to the door, I feel his anger.

"Oh yeah, and where is it you're going? To stab us in the back?" My hand is tight on the door knob.

"Unlike that fake family emergency, Fiona tried to give me. I have a real one, but you wouldn't know anything about thay, right?" Opening the door, I step out, locking it behind me. Before I can go down the stairs, I catch a glimpse of Lucas's face and can tell that I hit some type of nerve. "Touchy are we?"

When I exit the second door, my eyes couldn't help, but search around the club. It was so different from seeing it filled with people and being here when it was empty.

Taking a deep breath, I finally left the building, begining my long journey of a walk. There's something about walking, by yourself that just helps clear your mind, or even get your thoughts straight.

I don't get it, Lucas was so sweet to me, at first. He practically praised me in front of all this people, but towards the end of the night, it was like he hated me. Was it because of the speech? It was a pretty risky thing for me to do, but even Danny and Ms. Adler were glad that I had done so. So, why not Lucas?

It was like there was some switch in Lucas's mind, that made him go from civil to beast mode. I hope I didn't offend him, I'd hate to make an enemy within the family, even if he doesn't stay there all the time, and if I just met him. I need for them to trust me.

As time went by, my feet began to ache and I was physically tired. All thoughts that I had, redirected themselves into the weakness that I felt. "Oh, why didn't I drive to the club? Note to self, Jessa, next time Danny invites you somewhere, drive."

Just when I was about to give up, my eyes lifted toward the sky and what was ahead of me, was simply beautiful. The sun was like the yoke of an egg, it held the most importance, it was a golden glow, who's rays shine on the first beginnings, and ends of the smallest life. Bringing warmth to the coldest of thoughts.

In the distance, I saw it, the old bank and honestly, I don't think I could've been any happier. My car was still parked in the lot, and at the sight of it, I began running. It was like a burst of energy had surged through me, and all I wanted was to be sitting in my car.
