Chapter 31

The moment I opened the door, there were screams and two figures hurtled toward me. Tiffani and Emma. I hugged them back, touched that they would come to my house because I hadn't been in school for a while.

"OH MY GOD!" I screamed.

"BELLA! WE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!" Tiffani cried into my ear.

"Please tell me you're coming back to school soon!" Emma pleaded.

"Well..." I looked at Esme and Carlisle for help.

It's only been two weeks, after all.

"Of course you can, Bella," Carlisle answered me.

"Thank you, Daddy!" I squealed, wriggling out of my friends' embrace and running over to hug him.

Once all the sappiness was over and done with, I turned back to my friends. "Why are you here?"

"Sleepover!" they both yelled at once.

"EEEK!" we all screamed and I dragged my best friends up the stairs to my bedroom.

I handed Tiffani a piece of paper and a bright blue pen. She wrote on the paper in big letters 'NO BOYS ALLOWED.'

She then in turn handed it off to Emma with a grin and a roll of tape.

"What?" Emma asked.

"Stick it on the door, Emma," I answered her.

"OH," she laughed, running out of the room.

I laughed at her antics and tried to stop when she came back in, but failed. She looked at me quizzically.

"What?" she frowned.

"Nothing," I giggled. 

"Okay...?" she said, patronising me.

"LE'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!" Tiffani yelled and pumped up the music.

Emma yelled at her and she turned it off, looking guilty.

"What do you wanna do, then?" Tiffani sighed.

"Wanna paint our nails?" I asked excitedly before realising that I didn't know how.

"I don't know how to," they admitted.

"Scratch that," I chuckled. "I don't either."

"I thought... OH, I KNOW!" Emma's eyes lit up.

"What?" me and Tiffani asked in unison.

"Let's... Actually, I don't know. It seemed like a good idea at first," Emma said, her energy visibly drooping.

"C'mon, we want to hear it!" Tiffani encouraged her.

"Well, you're probably not gonna like it..." Emma frowned sadly, shaking her head.

"Come on! We will prolly love whatever you suggest!" I tried to give her a pep talk.

"Okay... I was gonna suggest we make slime?" Emma looked up bashfully.

"I LOVE THE IDEA!" I screamed, and Tiffani nodded happily.

"Let's go downstairs and buy the ingredients!" Tiffani suggested.

Hmm, I just thought of something. "Hey, Tiffani, can I call you Tiff? And can I call you, Emma, Em?"

But Em would be Emmett... Nah, he can be Emmy.

"Yes!" they both squealed. "Can we call you Bells?"

"Of course!" I smiled, hugging them. "Now let's go get some slimetastic fun!"

"Of course you can, kids," Carlisle agreed.

"Thank you!" I smiled, hugging him.

"Let's go!" Tiff practically dragged me and Em out of the house.

We set off for the supermarket.

"What color slime do you want?" I asked randomly.

"Green!" Em grinned happily.

"Blue!" Tiff sighed wistfully. "What color do you want, Bells?"

"Hmm, probably blue glow in the dark glitter," I told them nonchalantly. "We'll need to buy... Are you gonna get borax or liquid starch?"

"Liquid starch!" Em answered quickly.

"Okay, we'll buy that and food colouring at the supermarket, then glue, glow in the dark paint and glitter at Michaels'. Okay?"

"We'll make ours glow too," Tiff spoke up, Em nodding along with her.

Back at home

We set out Dixie cups and the newly bought material.

"So we pour out some glue..." I took out 3 bottles of glue and handed 2 to Tiff and Em.

We poured out about half the bottle and stopped. Tiff and Em waited for the next instruction.

"Add desired colouring or paint and/or glitter," I read.

We did that, Em with her electric green, Tiff with her pale blue, and me with my sky blue. They were all glow in the dark paint. I also tipped in some glitter. Okay, a lot of glitter. Tiff took the glitter bottle from me and poured in a significantly less amount of glitter than I had.

Em ignored the glitter altogether.

"Let's see... Mix the colouring/paint/glitter into the glue," I handed everyone a chopstick.

We all set to work. Once it was all mixed, the mixtures all looked awesome. Just then Em jumped up and ran into the bathroom. Tiff, grinning devilishly, took this as an opportunity add at inch of glitter into Em's mix and stirred quickly. She chuckled and I pretended not to notice.

Finally Em came back from her break and sat down. I continued reading.

"Slowly add in the liquid starch in small increments, stirring between each addition, until you feel that it's the perfect consistency. Who's going first?"

Tiff looked pointedly at me.

I sighed, grabbing the liquid starch bottle. "Fine."

I followed the steps as best I could and ended up with a very glittery ball of bright blue slime. It was awesome. Em was next. Her electric green was even more awesome. Until she saw the glitter.

Uh oh. Tiff quickly finished off her batch, and waited for the volcano to erupt.
