I woke up feeling considerably better. The greenish-yellow walls of the hospital room no longer made me want to puke. I pressed the 'Call Nurse' button and seconds later, a gruff-looking nurse with a unibrow came in. I stifled a giggle behind my hand.
"What are you laughing at?" she snapped.
"Uh - nothing," I gulped, scared.
"Good. And I will be your nurse for the rest of your bedrest," she glared at me as if I were a particularly nasty spot on her face.
I sighed inwardly. My stay at the hospital was already dreaded. This nurse was just dampening the already soaked mood.
"And you shall call me Nurse Robinson," the black-eyed nurse glowered.
"Yes, Nurse Robinson," I recited, stiff and glued to the sheets.
"Good. Now if you have anything, call me," Nurse Robinson turned to leave, but I called her back.
"Um, Nurse Robinson? I was wondering whether I could talk to Doctor Cullen."
A wicked smile lit up her face as she answered, "Of course you can. I'll go get him. But let me do this first."
Robinson grabbed me by the arm and dragged me off the bed, where she proceeded to slam me into the floor. She repeated this many times before setting me harshly back on the bed. I winced.
"This will happen every time you ask me for something," she growled. "And you shall tell Doctor Cullen you fell off the bed."
I nodded obediently. After a moment in which the nurse eyed me suspiciously, she morphed into Dalton. I screamed as loudly as I could.
"HELP!"
An array of doctors rushed in just after Dalton - now deathly pale and stronger than ever - hit my head with his fist. Then I saw no more, felt no more.
Was I dead?
