The next morning, when I woke up, no one was in sight. Except for Esme and Edward.
"Mommy!" I smiled, reaching for her.
"Bella!" she beamed at me, taking me up in her arms.
"Are you cold, Bella?" Edward fretted.
I shyly nodded.
"Okay," he said, and disappeared. Before I could blink, he reappeared, holding a big black sweatshirt. How did he do that? I wanted to do it.
"Hold your arms out," Edward told me as Esme let me down and walked away. I held my puny arms out and Edward slipped his sweatshirt around me.
"Come on, let's go down for breakfast. Are you hungry?" he asked me, putting his hand in my petite one.
"Um... I guess?" I hesitated.
"Come," Edward dragged me down the stairs into the large dining room.Rosalie, Emmett and Esme were there, all trying to make pancakes.
"Pancakes!!" I cried happily, sitting down on a chair.
"Do you like pancakes, Bella?" Rosalie asked me.
I nodded, beaming. "I love them!"
"They're done!" Esme flipped them on a plate and sets it in front of me. "Eat up."I take a bite from one and drop it from my mouth at once. It was hot. So I blew on it until I could see no more steam coming from it and put it back into my mouth.
"It's so good! Mommy, you're the best cook in the world!" my words were garbled by the food.
Esme looked like she was going to cry. "Thank you, sweetie."
"Bella! Do you want to play video games after you eat?" Emmett's eyes were full of excitement.
"Uh..." I didn't want to play with him, as he scared me, but I didn't want to hurt his feelings. "I don't know."
"Let her finish first Emmett," Esme scolded him. When I finished eating, Emmett dragged me (literally) into another room. When I saw it, I gasped. There were beanbag chairs scattered all across the room, and on a wall, a TV covered every single inch of it. It was HUGE. Underneath the TV, or should I say in front, there were a lot of electronic device thingies. I don't know.
"Whaddya wanna play, kiddo?" Emmett asked. There were a collection of games: Car Racing, WarTime, Mario Brothers, and Sing It. I giggled when I saw sing it.
"Play that with Emmett," Edward whispered to me quietly.Emmett saw and started to shake his head, but I interrupted. "I want to play Sing It."
"No!" Emmett picked up a Mario game. "How about this?"
I shook my head. "Sing It."
"But..." Emmett looked at the other games morosely.
"Just let her play, Emmett," Jasper spoke from the doorway.
"Fine," Emmett grumbled.
He slotted the disc into the machine and the game fired up. There was a HUGE selection of songs, some of which I knew, others I didn't.
"Can I choose?" I asked timidly, not wanting him to yell at me.
"Of course, squirt," he handed the remote controller to me.
I scrolled down the page before I saw my favourite song, When I'm Gone.
"This one," I handed the controller back to Emmett.
"Okay. Are you ready?" he had a devilish grin on his big face.
He looked scary and intimidating, and I cowered back into Edward. I put on a brave face on, so that he didn't have the feeling of having won before we even start.
"Bring it."
