"WHO PUT GLITTER IN MY SLIME!" Emma thundered, a devilish smirk on her face.

I pointed at Tiff while she pointed at me. We both giggled.

"Well, let's play a little game, shall we?" Emma grinned evilly. "Bells, what would Tiff say?"

"She would say... I did," I replied nonchalantly.

"Tiff?"

"Bells did."

"What would Bella say?"

"That she did it, I guess."

"Bells?" Em turned to me.

"Tiff did."

"Okay, I think I know who is lying," Em tapped her finger on her chin. "I think that Tiff is lying!"

"How did you know?" I asked, fascinated.

"My mom told me this technique," she smiled.

Tiff looked slightly guilty.

Em sighed. "Don't worry, Tiff, I forgive you. No worries."

The next day

Esme and Carlisle finally let me go back to school. The moment I walked into the gates, I was attacked by two demons, namely Em and Tiff while Esme walked to our classroom. Soon, though, someone else interrupted us. A Mexican, tall tanned girl towered over me, trying to look menacing.

"Who are you?" I squeaked.

"Demmie," she replied curtly. "Not nice to meet you."

I was taken aback. Who was this stranger? How dare she say that to me?

"What do you want?" Tiff stepped up next to me, chest out.

"Yeah, bully!" Em jutted her chin out.

"You got my friend into trouble. You will pay!" Demmie pointed at me accusingly, then walked away.

I looked at Em and Tiff, then we all shrugged together, making us laugh. Just then, the bell rung so we walked off together, chatting happily.

"Hello, class!" Esme chirped. "As you may have seen, Bella is back in class with us!"

I felt very self-conscious as everyone turned to look at me. I turned even redder when I saw Demmie glare at me from the back of the class.

"...and also," Esme was saying, "We have a new student, Jacob Black!"

I sighed, eyeing him. He had shoulder-length coarse-looking black hair, russet-colored skin, and dark eyes. I looked away, disinterested.

"Jacob, who would you like to sit next to?" Esme gestured to the classroom.

The tall boy looked around and smiled when he saw that the seat next to me was free.

"There," he said in a deep voice, pointing to the free seat.

"Okay, Bella, will you take care of him?" Esme requested.

I turned toward Tiff and Em and pulled a subtle face, before turning back to Esme and nodding reluctantly.
