"GET UP NOW, YOU BRAT!" was the first thing I heard.
"I'm up, I'm up," I mumbled, clutching the sheets in excruciating pain.
"Good," I heard Dalton mutter to himself. Then, louder, he declared, "If I come back in 5 minutes and you're not up, there will be trouble!"
The door closed and all was silent.
I slowly and painfully dragged myself off of my mattress and grab my bag, all the while flinching. My hair was a rat's nest, but I was hurting so bad that I couldn't do anything about it. It took all of my willpower not to let a tear fall. If I did, I would be in serious trouble.
Opening the door, I stumble out and make a painful way down the stairs. At the bottom I couldn't see anymore, my eyes were full of unshed tears. Dalton was standing at the door, tapping his foot impatiently.
"Don't cry," he warned, opening the door and stepping up.
I gulped back my tears and limped out of the door he held for me. After locking it, he disappears.
I sink down onto the ground, clutching my side gently. My arms also hurt. Please, Esme, please just happen to pass by and see me... I thought desperately. Then, a black Mercedes rolled up and stopped in front of me. Esme got out of it, with a blonde woman who was like a model.
"Oh no, Bella!" she exclaimed, before quickly and gently picking me up and carrying me into her car.
The blonde woman quickly stepped into the drivers' seat and started driving. I was on the verge of fainting, but Esme kept whispering kind words of encouragement.
Just when I thought I was gonna black out, the car stopped and Esme hastily brought me out of the car. We were at a hospital. We were moving unnaturally fast but I didn't care because all I could feel was pain. Just as the cold air and strange disinfectant smell of the hospital enveloped me, I lost all feeling and fell into the darkness.
