Chapter 17

Hey! thanks for reading! Ugh! I have the flu and well it sucks. Are you guys excited for Halloween? It's my fav holiday so I can't wait. Anyway to the story, please read and review! Also, random music suggestion, go listen to 'emperors new clothes' by panic at the disco. It's amazing.

Percy's POV

It was utter madness. Weapons, explosions, a flying shoe...wait what. Splat! Some dude's shoe decides to high five my face. I grab it from falling just as an eraser lunges at me. I use my newly acquired shoe and throw it at it. Of course it bonces off doing no harm, but what'd you except it's a shoe, not some great shoe in a prophecy destined to one day slay the might beas- I lunges and I slash at him using riptide to slice at it's chest. Growling he comes back for more. An explosion curtesy of Gazzy knocks him off balance and I end it. It's weird for him not to puff into gold dust but I can't think about that now. I step over him and move to help the others.

"Percy!" Nico screams and I see our group running down the hallway again. I follow and see the Minotaur fighting the scientist, their to occupied to notice us. This causes me to smile, Ha, for once a monster coming to our rescue. Well sort of. 

"Where are we going?" I ask as we sprint down the hallway taking a left then a right. 

"Through here." Iggy yells up ahead. We head into a door, inside is dark and we can't see.

"Max?" Gazzy calls out, he is answered by sobs coming from the corner. 

We rush over and Leo sets his arm on fire so we can have light. He finds a light switch and he turns it on. Max. Oh Max. 

She is huddled in the corner, her face stained with tears. Her back is bloody and looks to be ripped open. Her shirt stained with blood.

"Max? What happened?" I can hear the over protectiveness in my voice but I don't care, whoever did this will pay. She sobs harder and turns slowly so we can see her bare back, her wings are gone. A growl rips from my throat, I'm about to rip someones head off. Max was like a little sister to me, after all those months stuck and caged here the whole flock and I became close. I felt Annabeth put her hand on my arm, and I cooled down slightly. I turned to her and gave her a quick kiss, before turning to address the group. 

"Gazzy, Nico, Nudge, and Thalia, take Max and angel and get out of here just go don't wait for us. Iggy, Annabeth, and Leo go find Fang. Then, get out of here. I'm gonna go finish this. I'll meet you at camp." Annabeth tugs on my arm.

"I'm going with you." I no there's no point in arguing, she is the most stubborn person I know. 

"Okay." I nod to the others and Thalia and Nico carry Max and we head out. Everyone goes right and me and Annabeth head left back to the action. We hear the fighting before we are there, shockingly the Minotaur is till going pretty strong against these mortals.

"Hey beef head! Yo! Bald guy!"I yell getting their attention. They look over just in time to see me charge them. I'm furious and I use it to tear through them one by one. The Minotaur is the first to fall going down quickly as my blade slices his head off, both parts turning to dust. I turn to the rest. Annabeth is right behind me, soon the only ones left are the three scientists.

Max's POV

I am in the middle of my self pity party, when I am suddenly somewhere else. Like I blinked and now I am surrounded by darkness. I can still feel Thalia and Nico, as Percy called them, holding me up. The darkness clears and I am at camp. What just happened?

"Hey, you okay?' Thalia, the girl, asks.

"It's her first time shadow traveling shell be alright." Answers Nico. I look around, where is my flock? 

"Wh-?'" I try to ask the questions buzzing through my mind but my mouth doesn't seem to work.

"We just shadow traveled, It's something kids of Hades can do."Nico explains. I partially am carried partially walk as we head to the infirmary. 

"Flock?" I mange to get out. 

"Oh them?" their on there way here, we just had to go a faster route 'cause of how much blood your losing.Were gonna have Will bandage you up. It sucks your not a demigod because we can't give you nectar." Thalia says. They carry me to one of the beds and some kid with blond hair comes in.

"Hey, I'm will." He smiles at me and I feel to weak to return it so I just nod at him.I lay down on the bed and slowly slip into the world of unconsciousness.
