(Lydia POV)
"Scott and I are going on a date this Friday. You should come. We could make it a double date." Kira suggested once we sat down in the library.
"And bring who?"
Kira looked down. I knew she had something to say but was holding it back.
"Well...you could always bring Stiles."
She muttered.
"What? I can't hear you speak up." I said.
"I said you could bring Stiles." She whisper yelled, earning a shush from a nearby librarian.
"I can't bring Stiles. He just broke up with Malia. It'll be weird."
Kira looked at me with pleading eyes.
"Please! Scott needs some time with his buddies. A double date will be fun." She begged.
"I don't know. Stiles is my friend. We can't just go in a date."
"Why not? You already know him so there won't be any awkward silences, he's funny, he likes you, you like to hang out with him, and he's not bad looking. Why wouldn't you want to go in a date with him? Just ask him. Please?"
I sighed.
"Fine. But I'm picking where we go on the date."
Kira smiled triumphantly.
"Fine by me. Scott isn't the best with picking restaurants. He took me to Burger King in our third date."
...
I saw Stiles standing in the hallway talking to Greenberg. He looked worried. Once Greenberg left, I went up to Stiles.
"Hey Stiles." I said as I approached him. His eyes lit up.
"Oh hey lyds. I have something to tell you."
"Me too."
"You first." He said.
I nodded.
"Okay. Well on Friday, Scott and Kira are going on a date and she asked me to come and bring a date. So I was wondering if maybe you wanted to-" I suddenly stopped as my eyes drifted to a boy with a razor sharp jawline walking through the front doors of the school. The other lacrosse players instantly greeted him.
"If you um wanted to-" I tried to continue. I couldn't take my eyes off him. I felt myself weaken. It was him.
It was Jackson.
"Lydia? Are you okay?" Stiles asked. His voice sounded distant. My knees weaken and the books in my hands fell to the ground. My vision blackened as I fell to the ground. As I was falling, I felt Stiles put his arms under me and guide me to the floor so I didn't fall hard. Every went black.
...
(Stiles POV)
Jackson was here about five seconds and he already made Lydia faint. I couldn't blame her though. Their relationship ended on a bad note. That was what I wanted to tell her. Greenberg had just told me that Jackson was coming back. But what was Lydia about to ask me? It sounded like she was trying to ask me out. But that didn't matter right now. I had to wake her up. I knelt down next to her. People started to gather around. Jackson cane rushing over to her.
"Her hey hey back up okay? She fainted because of you and I'm sure your face isn't the first one she's wants to see when she wakes up. So you can just leave." I told him. Jackson raised his haves above his head, as if surrendering, then backed up.
"Someone get the nurse." I called out and began to press on her stomach. She wasn't breathing. I knew what I had to do. I opened her mouth slightly and blew into it, then continued to pump on her chest.
"Next time I kiss you, you better be awake." I murmured.
I did this a few times but she still wouldn't wake up. I couldn't let her go to long without breathing. I had one last idea. Without another thought, I bent down and kissed her. I suddenly felt her breath hitch in her throat. Her stomach started to rise and fall again. Lydia's eyes finally fluttered open and she began to cough and gasp for air. I helped her up. She was a little wobbly at first but I let her lean on me.
"W-what happened?" She asked. I could tell she was a little out of it at the moment.
"You fainted but you're okay now."
She nodded and leaned into me more.
"Stiles, can you take me home? I don't think I should be here anymore today."
I nodded.
"Of course."
I walked her to my car and helped her in. She slept most of the way. I stayed with her until she fell asleep. I knew Jackson being back would be hard on her, but at least she had me to lean on.
