•An old Japanese myth that claims that if two lovers commit duel suicide, they'll be reincarnated as twins•

"Hey sis, you alright?" A voice sounded through the door. A scruffy brown haired boy walked in.
"Yeah. I'm alright." Said his twin with a heavy voice. They had been made fun of at school again. Most brothers and sisters fought and ignored each other. Stiles and Lydia were the opposite of that.
Everyone assumed it was because they were twins. But they both knew the truth about why they were so close. Neither wanted to admit that they remembered, in fear that the other wouldn't understand and think they were crazy.
Stiles sat down next to her on the bed.
"The kids at school just don't understand us. They're not close like we are. They've never had someone to lean on all their life like we have. But nothing could come between you and I. Don't let their dumb comments get to you." Stiles said, placing a comforting hand on Lydia's shoulder.
"But don't you get it? We're nothing like them. Brothers and sisters don't act like we do." Lydia said angrily.
"Well we're twins. Of course we act different." Stiles assured his sister.
"I've seen twins before Stiles. We're nothing like them either. Most twins look alike. Most twins detest each other at times. Most twins aren't mistaken as lovers every time they meet new people. You can't even compare us to normal twins." Lydia shouted, getting up and walking to the other side of the room in anger. Stiles sat on the bed in silence. He hated to see his sister upset.
"Do you ever have flashbacks when you close your eyes?" He asked, breaking the silence.
"Sometimes." Lydia whispered. She had her back to him, gripping the dresser from across the room.
"Are they of us?" He continued.
"Always." She replied.

"I can't live like this Stiles. I can't do it anymore. I just can't." Lydia cried as she ran towards the edge of the building.
"Lydia please. Don't don't this. We can make things work. "
Stiles said shakily as he tried to persuade her to come away from the edge.
"No we can't. Our parents hate each other. They'll never approve of our relationship. We can't be together. And I can't live if I have to live without you. I'm going to jump Stiles."
He joined her on the edge.
"Then I'll jump with you. What's the point of living if you can't spend your life with your one true love? We can jump together. It'll be romantic, like Romeo and Juliette."
Lydia nodded and took his hand.
"Are you ready, my love?"
Stiles looked down and then back into Lydia's eyes and nodded.
"Are you sure you're okay with this?" She asked one last time.
"Really, I'm alright."
They nodded and looked forward.
The world rushed past them as they leapt off the building, hand in hand.

Lydia walked back to the bed and sat down next to Stiles. He placed his hand on top of hers. She quietly intertwined her fingers with his. They both recalled the events of their past life. They were fated to end up like this.
It's was destiny
But it was agony.
Stiles looked at her in dismay. He gave her a look, like he still wasn't convinced that she was okay with how their lives turned out. She gave him a weak but assuring smile.
"Really, I'm alright."
