PART THREE

•flashback•
"Oh look! There's a photo booth!" Lydia said excitedly as she grabbed Stiles's hand and pulled him with her. Though she had been to the ice skating rink a few times, she never noticed the photo booth.

Stiles and Lydia sat inside and shut the curtain. Lydia reached for her purse but Stiles stopped her.
"Ah ah ah. I'm paying." He informed her and inserted a five filler bill into the machine. Lydia gave him a look that said "thank you."
"Ok we'll smile for the first one." Lydia said. They both gave their brightest smile to get camera.
*CLICK*
"Stick your tongue out for this one." Stiles told her.
*CLICK*
"Let's be Scott for the next one!" Lydia joked. They both held up clawed hands and growled at yet camera.
*CLICK*
"Can we dab from this one?" Stiles asked with a smile. Lydia groaned but went along with it.
*CLICK*
"Kissy face." Lydia said and puckered her lips.
"Oh I can do kissy face." Stiles laughed before kissing Lydia on the cheek.
*CLICK.*
"Stiles!" Lydia exclaimed, playfully hitting him on the arm. They were facing each other, smiling in the aftermath of the kiss. Both forgetting about the booth entirely.
*CLICK*
The flash of the camera broke them from their gaze.
"Let's go see the pictures." Lydia said as she climbed out of the booth.

Stiles and Lydia waited patiently for the pictures to drop out of the machine. Finally, they were ready. Lydia picked them up and held them for Stiles to see.
"Aw." She muttered. You couldn't deny that they looked adorable.
"Which ones your favorite?" Stiles asked. Lydia looked them over.
"I like the last one. It's so candid. We weren't posing or anything. We're just looking at each other with flushed cheeks and sparkly eyes. It's pretty cute actually." Lydia said. Stiles smiled.
"Then you take that half. There's six photos. I take three and you take three." He said as he ripped it in half. Stiles handed Lydia the half with she wanted. He stuck his half in his wallet.

"Alright. Let's get back to ice skating." Stiles insisted.
"Is it really ice skating though? I mean, I'm ice skating. You're just kinda sliding around and gripping my arm." Lydia teased.
"Hey, shut up." Stiles laughed. Lydia just smiled in response, stealing one more glance at the pictures in her hand before returning to the ice.

Lydia POV

I lazily put my books back in my locker and grabbed what I needed for my next class. I stared at the strip of photos pinned up by a magnet on the door. I had completely forgotten they were in there. I looked them over for a few seconds before shutting my locker. "That's strange." I muttered. I wonder why I went in a photo booth alone.

I wander aimlessly in the halls before class. I feel like I'm supposed to be at someone's locker, but I can't remember who.
I stop to think.
I look around the hallway, trying to remember who I'm supposed to be meeting. No one comes to mind. It's like it's on the tip of my tongue.
It literally makes me want to scream.
"It's probably Scott." I think to myself and head towards his locker.

"Hey Lydia. You look pretty today." Scott says as I approach his locker.
"Oh thank you." I replied. Then I thought of something.
"You've never complimented me before." I told him. Scott gave me a questioning look.
"I mean, not that I'm complaining. I don't want compliments. I will not fall prey to society's desire to turn girls into emotional, insecure neurotics who pull up their dresses at the first flattering remark." I stammered.
"I...what?" Scott asked. What I had said went completely over his head.
"Forget that part. What I was trying to say was this is the first time you've given me a compliment. Why would you do it today?" I asked.
"Oh. I don't know actually. I've always thought you were pretty, every does. I guess somethings been stopping me all these years from telling you that I think you're attractive." Scott answered. I raised my eyebrows.
"You think I'm attractive?" I asked.
"Well Obviously. Lydia, you're gorgeous and I'm pretty sure you know that. Everyone knows that. But, I just feel like I could never be with you. It wouldn't be fair to-" Scott paused.
"To who?"
"Thats weird. I don't remember." Scott told me. I stared at him for a moment.
"What if it's Stiles? We know his name and what he looks like, but we don't know what he meant to us. I think we need to figure more of this out after school." I said. Scott nodded. The bell rang and we went to class.
