Duke x Reader

It was Friday morning, and everyone was just anxious to leave for the weekend. You were one of those people too. Even the teachers wanted to leave so most of your classes were study hall.

"Is it after school yet?" You asked yourself. Right now you wanted to go home and just sleep for the rest of the day. After staying up and cramming for the test yesterday, you didn't get enough sleep.

"Hey (y/n) I heard you did good on the test yesterday. The best in the whole class!" One girl said at your side.

"Huh? Oh, yeah I guess so."

"Do you study a week before or something? There must be a secret to having the highest grade!" She exclaimed.

"Um, yup! Just prepare for the test days before and you'll do fine!" You gave her a fake smile and thumbs up.

"Ahh thanks for the advice!" She left back to tell her other friends. You looked a little guilty. Imagine if they found out I just crammed for tests the night before...

"(Y/n) I heard you got the highest score again."

"Oh, hey Tea." You smiled and she sat next to you.

"Let me guess, last minute studying?"

"Hehe you know me so well." She chuckled.

"I'm surprised that actually works for you. Whenever Joey or Tristan tries it, they always fail."

You flipped your hair jokingly. "Well I am a professional when it comes to cramming for tests."

"Of course." Tea rolled her eyes. "Anyways, me and the rest are going to visit Duke's game shop. Wanna come?"

You thought about it. You never really hung out with Yugi and the others before, you just sorta, talked to them every now and then. That went for Duke too. You never really knew the guy, actually, you never spoke to him so you didn't know what to expect.

"Well?" She asked.

"Sure, I'll go."

"Great! We'll wait for you by the gate once school is over."

"Okay I'll see you then!" She gave a quick goodbye and went back to her own class.

"Huh, so his name is Duke. I wonder who he is."

*After School*

You casually walked though and out of the school building with headphones over your ears. You were so caught up with the song you were listening to that you almost forgot Tea and the others were at the front gate. It wasn't until Joey lightly hit your head with his bag that you noticed.

"Took you long enough (y/n)!" He elbowed you in a friendly manner.

"Sorry I guess I was caught up with my own thing." You elbowed him back.

"Now that we're all here, we should get going. Duke should be waiting for us." You and the rest nodded and walked together. You stayed in the back however, if felt strange walking alongside with them since you guys weren't completely acquainted with each other. And instead of listening in on their conversation, you just took out your headphones again.
In about 15 minutes, you all arrived to the building.

"Looks pretty neat."

"Well this is Duke's shop so I'm sure it looks all flashy inside." The group walked inside but you remained behind. You saw the entrance. In large words it read. DUNGEON DICE MONSTERS.

"Dungeon dice monsters... the heck is that?" From outside you peered through the window. There were alot of people inside, mostly girls for some reason. Farther back, it looked like there was a duel going on. Sorta. At last you walked inside. You caught up with the rest.
