If there was a word he could use to describe how he was feeling at that very moment, Yusaku would say lonely. Very, very lonely. Even with all the other children scurrying about and having fun, nothing could remedy the cold emptiness he felt.

He watched with dull eyes, crouched down near the building where he was being 'treated'. The horrifying events that occurred after he had been kidnapped flashed into his mind again, and with a pained whimper he shut his eyes and shook his head, hoping that it would somehow make the memories go away.

"Yusaku?" A young woman's voice called.

With a slight jerk, he turned his head to face her. She was another one of the teachers here (or so he assumed) that would also talk to him from time to time about what he went through.

She offered him a warm smile. "Yusaku, don't you want to play with the other children?"

He felt himself stiffen. "N-no, I like being here by myself..." After shyly answering he quickly turned away from her.

She instantly caught on to his behavior and wore a rather sad smile instead of her usual happy one. "If something's bothering you Yusaku, then feel free to come to me or some of the others here so we could talk about it." She gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "We'll always be here for you, you know that right?"

Yusaku still couldn't meet her gaze. ".....Yes..."

Even with that response the young woman knew that those memories had begun plaguing his mind again, but there was little she could do about it. Even after countless of private meetings and talks with the young boy, he still refused to open up about the incident. It broke her heart how much he had to go through at such a young age.

Very hesitantly, she removed her hand from his shoulder, still wearing that sad smile on her face, and walked away. Yusaku hadn't moved from his spot at all, but felt a little bad for pushing the lady away. It wasn't the first time either. Yusaku knew the people here wanted to help him, but he just couldn't bring himself to talk about the events that transpired not so long ago. It hurt him so much and just reminded him of the emptiness in his chest. A part of him even thought he couldn't be helped, that nothing can fill the void in his heart.

With all these emotions hurtling at him at once, Yusaku felt even more lonely than before. A tear threatened to fall from his eye but he quickly wiped it away. No, now was not the time to start crying, especially with the children and adults all around him. He had to stay strong.

"Think of three reasons......three reasons to keep going." He quietly whispered.

"Going where?"

Yusaku was startled to hear another voice just behind him. He whipped his head around only to see a girl about his age curiously staring at him.

"W-wha- why are you here?" Yusaku stuttered nervously. "And who are you?" Out of all the children he's seen here, he's never seen this girl before. Was she new?

She tilted her head but smiled at him. "My name is (y/n)! And I came here with my mom to see my little brother."

He furrowed his brows in confusion. "Then...why are you here instead of being with your mom?" This was one of the few times Yusaku actively engaged in a conversation with someone after the incident, and that fact surprised him even more than the strange girl herself.

He noticed her expression drop at that question but she quickly brightened up. "My brother's really sick, and sometimes the doctors tell us we can't come in his room for a while which is why I sometimes wander off and try to find someone to play with." She looked at Yusaku again with a hopeful look.
