Yusaku x Reader

You fiddled with your pencil monotonously and kept watching the clock tick ever so slowly in your classroom. Your teacher was rambling about some history lesson while occasionally writing a few things on the board. You paid attention for the most part and took notes like everyone else but your mind couldn't help but wander. This class had to be your most boring one and it always felt like it took the longest. Right before you completely drifted off however, the bell finally rang and woke you from your daze.

"And that's the bell, class dismissed."

You shut your notebook and moved it to the side. You then proceeded to stretch your arms a little before putting away your materials completely. Your classmates also seemed pretty sluggish and slowly put their stuff away too. One by one each student left the classroom until there was only you and some boy sitting in the back row.

You looked over at him briefly. He had his head in his arms which were resting on top of the desk. His eyes were also closed which meant this guy was probably asleep. You contemplated on whether or not you should wake this guy up. I mean, he would probably miss his next class if you didn't, but you also didn't want to disturb his sleep.

You looked at him for a few more seconds until you finally made up your mind. You walked over to the back row and approached the boy cautiously. 'I'm surprised I haven't noticed this guy before.'

You lightly tapped his shoulder until he began stirring in his sleep. After a minute or two, he cracked his eye open and realized there was someone next to him. He lifted his head and rubbed his eye.

"Yes?" He asked with a tired voice.

"Oh, I just wanted to tell you that class is over. Wouldn't want you to miss your next class you know?" You offered him a small smile.

He glanced over to you again and sat up straight. "I see, thank you for waking me up. I tend to drift off easily in this class."

"Heh, I don't blame you." You turned around and went towards the door. "Well, see you around." You waved a quick goodbye to your classmate.

"Uh, yeah. See you around." He waved as well.

You leisurely walked to your next, and final class for the day. Although you were tired not too long ago, you were suddenly filled with more excitement as the school day came closer to an end. Why you ask? Because of the new duelist that appeared in Vrains not long ago that has been taking down the Knights of Hanoi.

You held mild interest in dueling and would occasionally enter the VR but there wasn't much to do there. Sure you'd duel a few people but they were, mediocre per say. Then there were the charisma duelists Go Onizuka and Blue Angel. They were great duelists but trying to get a match with them was almost impossible since so many others wanted to duel them as well. You practically gave up trying to contact them because of that reason and just watched their duels instead. But it all changed when he came into the picture.

"Playmaker..." You mumbled to yourself. A mysterious new duelist that appeared out of nowhere with excellent dueling skills. You wanted to know more about him but he always seemed to vanish before any news anchor could interview him or even film him for that matter.
He also seemed picky with whom he'd duel, so it was a rare sight to see him in Vrains. Only when those Knights of Hanoi people showed up would he appear as well.

You grinned a bit as you scrolled through the latest news online. Everyone was desperate to know who this guy was as well, and sometimes people would even try to impersonate him just for the attention.

"He showed up just a short while ago and he already has a fan club." You couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Man, I would love to duel him but that's just as impossible as trying to duel Go and Blue Angel." It was a little frustrating to know that but you could still hope. Because unlike those charisma duelists, Playmaker was much more serious and not over the top. He was just so intriguing.
