Ryou Bakura x Reader

A crowd of students hurried out of their classrooms for lunch. Some stayed in class while others gathered outside to eat their meal. Today, Ryou decided to stay in class since the others would just talk behind his back if he went outside. He never did anything to them, but his alter ego left him with a poor reputation among the others. Thankfully though, Yugi and his friends kindly welcomed him. He appreciated it of course, but something told him that he just didn't belong with their group.

"Hey Ryou do you want to join us?" Yugi asked him. Ryou was used to hearing this question, he had offered it almost everyday. And as usual he responded.

"No thanks but I appreciate the offer." With his usual smile on his face.

"Well alright, but just remember you're always welcomed to."

He would've joined them but he didn't want people talking about them if he were to be with them. So instead he ate by himself, occasionally some girls would come by and fawn over him which he'd grown accustomed to.

"Ah, another normal day." He sighed.

Someone entered the class but Ryou didn't bother looking up. The said student was talking to the teacher about something he couldn't hear clearly. When their conversation finally ended, they were about to leave the classroom but they stopped right at the doorway. Soon Ryou heard someone sit in the desk beside him.

"Hello!" They greeted happily.

"Uh, oh, hello." He sputtered awkwardly.

"Do you mind if I join you?"

"Oh, no not at all."

The stranger smiled kindly at him and took out their own lunch. "I'm (y/n) by the way. And you?"

"It's Ryou Bakura."

"Well its nice to meet you Ryou!~" You patted his back as a sort of greeting to which he smiled at.

"It's nice to meet you too (y/n)."

If Ryou could describe his day using one word, it would be 'unexpected'. First this student whom he doesn't know at all joins him and accompanies him, then they come the next day and do it again. It became a thing now.

"Hey Ryou!" You greeted casually.

"Hello (y/n)." He was surprised to see you sit beside him again.

"So how has your day been?"

"Oh, well it's been the usual I suppose."

"And what do you mean by the usual?"

"Umm," He shrugged. "Well I guess it's just been a nice day and nothing happened I guess."

You continued to throw out some small questions, attempting to make small talk. Your mood remained positive and you noticed it was rubbing off on Ryou. As your conversation progressed, he became more comfortable in your presence and spoke much more. It got better as more days passed by. And during those days, you opened up much more too.

"And what about you (y/n)?" He started. "What are you doing this weekend?"

You grinned. "Well I was planning to stay indoors and watch some movies buuuuttt." You stretched out the last word and eyed him.

"But?"

"Do you happen to be free this Sunday?" You winked.

His face grew warmer. "Well, I mean I don't have anything to do that day so- "

"Great! So how about we do something together?"

"Like a....."

"Date?" You finished. "Well I wouldn't call it a date but rather a hangout with two friends." You snickered.
