The sun rose up from the horizon and shined light onto your once beautiful home. All that was left now was a desolate city crumbling and dying with each new day. You watched from afar, in your small refuge safe from any possible danger. Tied around your neck was a red cloth symbolizing that you were a part of the Resistance. There was a knock on your door.

"Are you ready to go, (y/n)?"

You stepped away from your window. "Yeah, I'll be out in a bit."

You fixed your red cloth and went to grab your duel disk. After fastening it onto your arm and grabbing your cloak, you went for the door. Even though it was early in the morning you knew those damn soldiers would be lurking around looking for new victims. You stepped outside and met up with your fellow teammates.

You noticed that there were only two members however. Much less than when you started these trips. "So it's just the three of us now huh?"

"Guess so." One of them responded. "Let's go now. We can't be wasting time when those bastards could be sneaking around everywhere."

You nodded. "Agreed, we'll go as a group this time."

"A group? But splitting up would save us more time and we'd cover more ground."

"Yes I'm aware but, I just have a bad feeling about today." Your voice was low and staggered a bit. Your teammates noticed.

"Well... if you say so (y/n)." Whenever you said you had a bad feeling about something, they took your word for it. Because when they didn't, events would often lead to tragedy as you had feared.

You smiled a bit. "Okay, now let's move out!"

The three of you charged forward into the city as stealthily as possible and made sure to keep your eye on everything around you. Most of the members in the Resistance were usually asleep at this time which you believed made them vulnerable to any sneak attacks. Luckily the enemy hadn't found their hideout yet but they could one day. So in order to prevent this, you created your own team to set out early in the morning or late at night to secure the safety of the others.

You jumped from building to building, keeping the other two in your view. You actually had a much larger team at first but due to some very unfortunate events, many had fallen and lost to the enemy. The memories of these events would often anger you and make your hatred towards the Academy increase. Other members would just give up completely and retreat back to the safety of their camp, such cowards they were.

You stopped running when you reached a clearing in the city. There you hid and watched for any sign of movement. The other two also surrounded the clearing and did the same. It was only a minute before you heard a rock fall from one of the destroyed buildings. You instantly put your guard up and activated your duel disk.

'So we're not the only ones here. Show yourself Fusion scum.'

A few more moments passed until you heard another rock fall and hit the ground. This time it came from somewhere very nearby. Almost behind you. You turned sharply and looked around. There was no one in sight. You glared and took a few steps forward. Suddenly, you felt a presence behind you drawing closer and closer. You jumped forward and quickly threw a punch to whoever or whatever was behind you. In turn someone else caught your punch before it could hit them.

"Out here again (y/n)?"

"Eh?" You opened your eyes. "Kite? What are you doing here?"

"What does it look like? I'm out here looking for those Fusion soldiers. Why are you and your two lackeys still roaming out here? Its too dangerous for you."
