Gabriel fell to his knees, everything seeming to happen in slow motion. He ignored the boys and Bobby, who were all in distress.
He grabbed your blood covered hand, holding it against his chest.
Up above the clouds, a young woman sat in a roadside bar, watching the scene unfold with sadness.
A young man with a mullet patted her on the shoulder, a young woman with kind eyes kissed her tear streaked cheeks, and a young girl with long blonde hair hugged her tightly.
The angel cried below, and the woman cried above.
~
You were sitting at The Roadhouse, sipping iced tea with Ash. You were having one of your bad days.
You spun around on your bar stool as you talked with Ash.
You finished your drink and slammed down the glass, making Ash jump.
"I'm going to check on Gabe." You announced.
Ellen popped up out of no where, shaking her head.
"Hun, we talked about this. It isn't good for you to sit by that lake all day, watching him."
You gripped the countertop tightly. It'd been a year, but it still hurt so much.
"I'm going. I just need to see him." You said softly.
You jumped off the bar stool, giving one last fleeting glance towards Ellen and Ash before opening the front door, stepping into brightness.
You blinked away the light, and you were sitting in a beautiful garden. The same garden your mother had as a kid. In the middle, between the roses, sat a great pond.
This was where God had created your portal. You could sit and watch the world down below whenever you pleased.
God had been good to you. He gave you the portal, and the markings of angel wings on your back. 'For you are the angel of an angel.' He had said.
Now you sat, criss crossed in the grass, the pond laid out in front of you.
You touched the pond with the tip of your finger, the water rippling.
"Show me Gabriel." You whispered. An image started to come up on the waters surface, and it was enough to make you cry.
Sam, Dean and Gabriel were in the same room as Lucifer. You clenched your fists as you watched the scene unfold. There was nothing you could do.
Gabriel was able to get Sam and Dean out, and you let out a relieved sigh.
Your relief was quickly diminished, as your angel was left in the room with his brother. You could see Gabe's lips moving, but you didn't know what was being said.
Suddenly, in a flash of light, Lucifer lunged, and all you saw was the handle of an angel blade protruding from Gabriel's stomach.
You screamed, throwing your fists to the water. The image disappeared, and you wrapped your arms around yourself. Quiet sobs racked your body.
Your angel was dead. Would you ever see him again?
You slowly stood up, and started walking among your flowers. Silent tears still streamed down your face as you picked a daisy. They were Gabriel's favorite.
"You know, those are my favorite."
Your throat went dry at that sound. That voice.
You spun around, and there stood your beloved angel, your beloved Gabriel.
You didn't ask questions, you just ran into his arms. He picked you up, hugging you so tight you could barely breath.
As he kissed your cheeks and your forehead and your lips, you whispered three words that made his eyes water.
"My honey man."
