You opened your eyes, taking in your surroundings. You were laying in a grassy field, plants tickling your ears. You sat up, and gave yourself a once over. You wore jeans and a plain black t-shirt.
Where were you? You couldn't remember what had happened....
You slowly stood up, a light breeze swaying the flowers and trees around you. You turned and suddenly you saw the Roadhouse. With a gasp you ran forward, yanking the door open and slipping inside.
At the bar sat 4 people with their backs to you, and your eyes began to water.
"Guys?" You whispered, afraid if you were too loud they'd vanish.
One by one the people turned to face you, your eyes watering more and more after each person.
Jo, Ellen, Ash, and Bobby. Tears began running down your face as you jumped into Bobby's arms. You buried your face into Bobby's flannel, inhaling his signature whisky and pine scent.
"I missed you guys so much." You cried as you went down the line and hugged everyone tightly.
"We missed you too, sweetheart." Ellen said with a sad smile.
"But you aren't here for us, darlin'." Ash says, patting your shoulder.
"What?" You asked, confused.
Suddenly everything came flooding back.
Your screams, the knife, Gabriel's cry, the blood. You stumbled back, overtaken with sadness.
"Oh god, oh no!" You cried, tears streaming down your face.
"I'm dead, aren't I? I'm dead!" You screamed, falling to your knees.
Everyone knelt around you, consoling you.
Jo finally spoke up, once you had finished crying.
"He wants to see you now." She said softly, grabbing your hand and pulling you up off the floor.
Jo stepped back as Bobby grabbed your hand and led you to the back of the Roadhouse.
As he led you away, you turned back to Ellen, Jo, and Ash.
"What's going on?" You asked, getting no response.
Bobby stopped outside the back door, patting your hand.
"This is it. This is where I let you go." He said gruffly.
"What?" You began get panicked, breathing heavily as you looked back at all your loved ones.
"I don't wanna leave you. Where am I going?"
Bobby still didn't answer, instead pushing you towards the door.
"You have to go." He says softly.
Bobby was pushing the door open and a bright light was coming out. So before he could push you in, you darted forwards and hugged him tightly, kissing his cheek.
"I love you Bobby. And you, guys, you too." You blew kisses at everyone as Bobby pushed you through the door the last thing you heard was,
"We love you too."
You were blinded by the white light as the door shut behind you, and for a moment you thought you'd gone blind.
Before you could panic, a voice spoke to you. He spoke in quick, simple words. Within a couple minutes, he was done speaking, and you understood.
With a blink of your eyes, you were sent back down, only to reawaken in someone's arms.
You gasped as air flooded your lungs and your eyes snapped open.
They were met with the honey eyes of your angel lover.
"Gabe?" Your voice was hoarse and cracked.
"(Y/N)!" Gave cried, holding you as close to him as possible.
He buried his head into your shoulder and began sobbing.
"I'm so sorry." He said in between cries.
You wrapped your arms around his head and began running your hands through his hair.
"It's ok, baby. It's okay, I'm okay." Your voice was shaky as tears spilled down your face.
You were vaguely aware of other people in the room, and you quickly peeked around.
Cas stood in one corner, the Winchesters in another looking uneasy.
Gabriel pulled away from your shoulder and kissed you long and hard.
"I'm so sorry babe. I'm sorry I wasn't there." He said softly.
You smiled softly, and kissed his forehead.
"It's not your fault, Gabe. I was just too sad."
Gabriel helped you stand up, and you winced as you felt your abdomen ache.
"Are you ok? Castiel wasn't sure if he could heal you all the way." He said, holding a hand to your abdomen and bringing you some relief.
Castiel stepped forward and finally spoke.
"In fact, I didn't think I'd healed you at all. You were....dead."
Gabriel flinched as if someone had slapped him.
You squeezed his hand reassuringly.
Now, everyone in the room was staring at you, waiting for some sort of explanation.
But up in heaven, he had specifically told you not to tell.
So you just smiled lightly and shrugged.
Castiel didn't look convinced but didn't press on. He excused himself before disappearing.
The Winchesters still looked uneasy, but Sam finally spoke up.
"I'm glad your ok."
You thanked him before turning to Gabe.
"I'm ready to go home."
He nodded and linked his arm with yours. He was about to zap you away before you held up a hand.
"Wait."
You looked to the Winchesters and said one last thing.
"Bobby says hi."
You saw only looks of surprise before flashing away.
Gabriel popped you back into your apartment.
You saw the bathroom door opened slightly and you could still see blood all over the floor and bathtub.
Gabe noticed you looking and slammed the door shut with the flail of his wrist.
"Don't look, babe." He says, pulling you in the bedroom and onto your bed.
He climbed in and laid you down beside him.
You set your head on his chest and he ran his fingers through your hair.
"Promise you'll never leave me again."
Your heart broke at the raw emotion in Gabriel's voice.
"I promise."
He kissed your head as you closed your eyes.
"I love you Gabe." You murmur.
"I love you too." He says, kissing your forehead.
You are slowly lulled to sleep by the beating of Gabriel's heart as he watched over you all night.
