Chapter 3- Team 7?

Someone was banging on the door... too tired to get it.

"Hey! Ashimi-san."

My eyes slipped open, that sounded like Sakura! Reluctantly I got out of the heaven these people called a bed, after years of sleeping in trees I doubt I would ever leave my bed again.

"Ashimi-san? It's me Sakura! Are you still asleep?"

I let out a groan and walked to the front door and opened it, Sakura stood there smiling at me. "Morning! You and Teno-kun should really hurry up, your going to be placed in your teams today! But your most likely to be placed in separate teams because there suppose to be three man teams but since you two arrived it won't be fair that one team has five people in it."

I didn't catch anything Sakura was droning on about. Something about being place in separate teams?

"Just come on" Sakura said grabbing my arm. Over her shoulder she yelled. "Teno-kun! I'm taking Ashimi to be placed into her team, hurry up if you want to train as a ninja!"

Ten and I arrived around a week ago, the Hokage had placed us in the academy but soon learned we were advanced enough to be placed in our own teams already. Today the Hokage would be placing Teno and I into a team where we'll train and do missions. Teno stopped being such a pain about living in the village, I can tell he really likes it here. Maybe even more than me, which is saying something.

"Wait up" I heard Teno shout behind us. He caught up and glared at Sakura and me. "You guys left me."

Sakura shrugged. "You were taking too long."

Teno pouted. "Whatever."

As we reached the very first building I came to all tiredness seeped from my body, replacing it was worry. What if I wasn't good enough to be a ninja!?

I shook my head, that kind of thinking wouldn't help, only my actions counted from here on out, but still...

I walked in the room and Sakura left Teno and I and went over to Kakashi's team 7. I noticed there was another team here other than team 7 but I ignored that and went up to the Hokage.

Laying infront of him were two head protecters, the signature leaf was in graved in both, I felt a rush of excitement rush through me. One of those would be mine and the other Teno's.

I saw Iruka sensei standing next to the Hokage, he was our teacher durning our one week at the academy. Iruka beamed a smile at us and I smiled weakly back, I didn't think Teno noticed Iruka sensei though. His eyes were pinned to the leaf head protecter.

The Hokage cleared his throat and we looked up at him.

"Are you ready to take responsibility as a shinobi of the leaf" he asked. "Though you just arrived in this village, it will be your home for you and future generations, you must be ready to protect it even if you have yet to form a bond with it."

"I will" I answered.

"I will" Teno answered.

"Then by the power invested in me as Hokage, I present you with these head protecters!"

Iruka sensei picked up one of them and handed it to Teno who smiled and bowed.

Then Iruka picked up the remaining one and walked over to me. "Good job Ashimi" he whispered. Then I felt the head protecter in my hands, my head protecter. Tears brimmed in my eye but I let none fall, I couldn't cry now.

"Now" the third said. "We will place you in your teams. Hykuna Teno, please step forwards."

Teno took a large step forwards. "From now on you will be a member of team 10, your sensei is now Sarutobi Asuma. You may meet with your team mates after this is done. Wynato Ashimi, come forth."
