Chapter 24- Ashimi vs Teno

The medic team walked away and Kakashi helped Sasuke up but the rest of us were all focused on the score board.

I smiled hoping I would go next, after that match I couldn't wait to get going!

Suddenly two names showed up and I paled. The first name was mine luckily but the second name.........

.... Hykuna Teno.....

My mouth dropped open and I looked around and found him, Teno's eyes meet mine. Did they truly expect us two childhood friends who promised to always protect each other and never let the other get hurt fight?! I mean we had always practiced fights but we never hurt one another! He was my only family, how do they expect me to fight him.....?

"Ashimi-chan?"

I slowly turned to the voice, it was Sakura who stared at me worried, "Are you okay?"

I shook my head, tears threatening to spill.

"Will the two participants please come down," I heard Hayate called. I nimbly jumped off the balcony and land on the floor. I slowly made my way over to to him with Teno following him.

I opened my mouth to speak when suddenly Teno's voice came, "I forfeit."

Murmurs erupted through out the crowd I I narrowed my eyes and turned to him, "You will not!"

"But Ashimi-" he began but I silenced him with a glare and turned to Hayate.

"Is there anyway that we change our battle partners?"

He shook his head, "No."

"Please," I begged. "Anyone but Teno-kun! I won't be able to live with myself if I hurt him!"

"I second that," Teno said backing me up.

"Alright now!" I heard Anko yell. "That's enough! There will be no changes unless you both want to fail this exam!"

I felt anger course through me, this was do unfair!

"Listen Ashimi," Teno said. "I'll just forfeit-"

"No," I said firmly.

"But it's my choice!" He shouted back. "I want to-"

"No you don't," I hissed. "You know you can't hide what you truly think from me! No one can! You want to be in this exam so bad that it hurts to think about not being in it so don't give me that bullshit! We're going to fight and that's final! Besides, we've always wanted to know who was stronger right! Well this is our chance so take it!"

Teno blinked at my words and gripped his fist, "I suppose your right... Fine, we'll fight."

We both looked to Hayate and nodded.

"Okay," he said. "Ready..... Start!"

Teno pulled out his sword and held in menacingly out at me which was a direct burn to my heart. I activated my power by sending my chakra to the roots below the tower. I could tell there were some shocked faces when they saw my flowing golden hair.

I charged at Teno who made no move to dodge instead he used his sword Lengewa to block my steel hard hair, bad move. Didn't he learn anything from all those years with him?! I continued to block him as I quickly shot three strands of my hair at his stomach. Teno gasped in pain and his grip on Lengewa loosened enough for me to rip it from his grasp and throw it aside.

Teno collapsed to the floor coughing and I released my justu thinking I hurt him too bad, "Teno-kun?"

"Don't let your guard down!" His voice shouted but it came from behind me. The Teno in front of me poofed away, I don't know how I missed that it was a clone. I tightened my jaw and jumped to the side and kicking Teno in the rib. How dare he use the bond we share as a weapon against me?! Now I was pissed!

I made a quick hand seal and released the energy from my hair into the air around and shot it at Teno who was just getting up from the floor. The golden light enfleged Teno and he let out a scream. I closed my eyes and flinched from the noise. I reactivated my bloodline limit just in case that last move didn't finish it off.

When I opened my eyes I choked back a sob, Teno laid there bleeding from the burn marks from my attack. I released my justu and ran up to him.

"This match is over!" Hayate said. "The winner is Wynato Ashimi who has passed the prelims!"

I sighed, it was great that I passed but at such a great price too. I picked up Teno's fragile figure and laid him on the stretcher the medic nins brought out. I knew from the start Teno was no match for me, he never was and it hurt me to think about to. Just than I realized something important.

I looked down at Teno, a tear fell from my face as he opened his eyes and looked at me and smiled.

"You did awesome Ashimi-chan," he whispered. "I was no match for you."

How could he not be mad at me?! The pain he must be in right now, and the important thing I realized was that I had gave him his birthday present early for a reason, because the chunin exams might get in the way. And it did, because today was his birthday.

"H-happy birthday Teno-kun," I said with a weak smiled. "Your fourteen now! Yay......"

Teno laughed, "Don't look so down Ashimi! You should be happy, you won! Besides if you wont be happy for that reason at least be happy for me!"

I smiled a watery smiled, "Okay."

I watched in silence as they carried him away, I sighed and looked up at Hayate. "May I follow them?"

He nodded, I smiled gratefully and ran to catch up with the medic nins. I called over my shoulder, "Naruto! Sakura! You two better not lose on me! Or at least tell me what I missed okay!"

"Sure!" I heard them call back. I smiled, it's great to have good friends.....

Urg..... Another short chapter..... I don't know why I didn't just put this with the other chapter, what the hells wrong with me?! ..... Oh well! I hoped you all enjoyed!
