Story line: You're afraid of planes and when you are ready to leave the plane because you don't care about missing your holidays, a boy named Calum appears and calm you down.

I was getting sick and the plane had not even taken off. Here's the thing: I really hated planes. I didn't know why but I just did. So for me, being on a plane for fourteen hours was like being on hell. I didn't know why I accepted to go and visit a friend on the United States when I knew I had to fly alone. I sighed really loudly and I covered my face with my hands. I couldn't do this. I couldn't be on a plane for fourteen hours. I didn't care if my friend get mad at me. Seriously, I didn't care. I needed to get off the plane.

"Hey, are you okay?". I stopped thinking for a moment and I looked between my fingers. Oh, there was a boy sat next to me. I didn't even notice I had company on the plane. He had blond highlights in his black hair and his brown eyes were looking at me with curiosity.

"No" I confessed and I uncovered my face. "I need to get out of here". I began to get up and he looked at me with confusion.

"I don't... I don't think you can" he admitted. "The doors are closed and the plane is going to take off in a few minutes" I let myself fall into the seat and I sighed.

"I'm going to die. We are going to die" I dramatized making him laugh. "It's not funny!" I complained.

"I'm sorry, you're right; it's not funny" but he was still laughing. "Are you afraid of planes?".

"No, I'm just having a hard time because I felt like my life wasn't interesting enough" I sarcastically said and he laughed even more. "Hey, come on!" I pouted. "I'm suffering here, okay?".

"It's going to be okay. Planes are the safest vehicle out there, you know?".

"Yeah but that doesn't mean we cannot crash" he shook his head, laughing.

"You're an optimistic girl, aren't you?". I shrugged. In a weird way, our little talk was calming me down. I was still nervous and afraid but I was feeling more safe. "I'm Calum, by the way".

"Hi, Calum. I'm Y/N, your worst nightmare in this plane" he chuckled. "Sorry for bothering you but I need to talk because I feel like jumping out the window. And that is stupid because I will kill myself anyway" Calum had to cover his mouth because he burst of laughing. "So, what are your plans when you arrive to the States?".

I discovered that Calum was there with his band, called 5 Seconds Of Summer, and he was going to the States to record their second album. I was impressed, to say the least. And I felt horrible for not knowing them. When the plane started to take off, I had the need to take Calum's hand and squeeze it. He didn't complain or move away his hand and I mentally thanked him for that.

We spent a lot of hours talking, getting to know each other. I liked that boy, he was funny, intelligent and he seemed to think I was funny, what made me very happy. After six hours, I started to feel very tired and I kept yawning. Calum laughed softly and moved his shoulder: "You can rest your head here, if you want. I don't mind" he said to me.

"I think I bothered you enough".

"Nah, you're fine. Come on". I didn't know if it was his smile or the fact I was really tired, but I rested my head on his shoulder and in a matter of minutes, I fell asleep. When I woke up, Calum had fell asleep too and I couldn't help but smile at the sight. I didn't move for a few minutes because his head was resting on top of my head but after a while, I started to feel uncomfortable so I moved a little bit, trying not to wake him up but I didn't success. "Something happened? Are you okay?" he asked quickly and I laughed.

"Everything is fine. Keep sleeping, there's still a while until we arrive" Calum didn't think it twice before resting his head on my shoulder.

Finally, the fourteen hours of flight ended and when I got off the plane, I looked for Calum, who was reunited with his friends. I couldn't help but feel weird when I thought about everything me and Calum shared on the plane. It was stupid, I know, but in some strange way, Calum and I had a special connexion. So, not wanting to leave without saying goodbye, I went over to him and said: "We didn't die after all".

"I told you so" he said, chuckling.

"Thank you. Seriously. I know I'm a pain in the ass when I'm afraid and at one point I was afraid you were going to be the one to kill me" he laughed again.

"It was the best flight I had in a very long time and believe me, I spend my days flying around the world" he admitted and I blushed a little bit. "If you don't have plans one of these days, you should call me" he said, smiling and I frowned. "See you soon, Y/N".

"What? Call you? How?" I asked, nervously. He laughed while he started to walk. Then, he pointed at my jacket. I put one of my hands in the pocket and I found a piece of paper. It had his number under the name of Calum. I grinned and when I raised my head to tell him that I was going to call him, he wasn't there.
