Chapter 5 ¤ Titania

Lucy's P.O.V.

Training and rest days ended already and Mest told us that we should be meeting with the others at the guild. Thankfully, we got our magic and energy back because of the relaxing warm water of the resort we went yesterday.

We didn't have much time for a warm-up this morning since we woke up at seven o'clock and used the remaining time for breakfast. I just hope that not warming ourselves up won't do much trouble later on.

"Let's hurry!" Wendy suggested and did what she said. After all, we are five minutes late.

I didn't say anything and just followed her inside the guild. Everyone was waiting. It looks like they really did a tough training.

The stares kill.

"Sorry for being late!" Wendy apologized and bowed. I did the same beside her.

"Rare for you to be late, Lucy." Happy said, holding a fresh, slimy fish.

"I'm just not used to training hard twice a row." I answered.

To be honest, I didn't even want to train like we're gonna fight some monsters from hell but Wendy insisted to and said that we have to be sure.

Of course, I couldn't refuse. Wendy wants both of us to win.

Master walked to the front of the stage constructed inside the guild while holding his hands behind him. Erza and Mirajane are gone. Maybe they already went somewhere, waiting for their opponents to come.

"Children, before you proceed with the trials, I hereby announce the last announcement for safety." He said.

"I'm sure most of you are wondering if the people of the town will be affected by your fight. You do not need to worry because we have a prepared shield to protect the properties of the people around you and themselves." He continued.

So it means that even if we go all out, nothing's gonna be damaged, like that? Amazing.

"My announcement is:" He paused with a groan and faced us with a serious look.

"I have decided that whoever wins this and gets promoted in the end may be one if the options of the next Master of the guild. I will be retiring already and I would like the coming Master to not give the position back to me. I have an important errand to go." He announced.

Next M-master? Hey, that's tough.

As expected, everyone was shocked because of his announcement that he will be retiring. I never expected that Master will actually decide on something like this.

"Now, all I can say is Goodluck." He smiled.

"Let the trials begin."

I ran outside the guild without even thinking. Wendy followed me and everyone else did the same. Nothing was in my mind except for not giving up.

That made me think twice. Where the hell am I going anyway?!

Before I could, Natsu already opened the door with an unexpected force that made it fly away from the guild and crash at the air. There was something that blocked it.

A shield?

"Oh. I forgot." Master rubbed his head and walked in front of us.

Whoo! It just started but my heartbeat is fast already! There's no stopping this.
