Liz's PoV

"Who are you?" A girl was standing at the door. Her stance was defensive as if she was expecting someone she was afraid of.

"Ummm can you speak?" She asked again.

I realized that I had been staring at her. She was pretty but could use some better fashion sense.

"Hi. My name is Elizabeth Wakefield." I introduced myself and extended my hand forward.

She shook it hesitantly. "Umm Hi. How can I help you?" She asked.

How should I put this that I found your address in a mysterious box that supposedly belonged to my grandma and came here in hope that you could provide some answers for her mysterious disappearance...

"Um hello?" She asked again.

"What's your name? I blurted out.

"Queen Victoria. Why do you care and who are you?" She irritatedly said.

"Can I atleast come in?" I asked in a softer tone.

"No." She was quick to reply.

"Ok. Fine then. I will call up Mrs Alberta regarding it." I said.

Colour drained from her face and she started stuttering incoherently.

"I.. She.. How..." She mumbled as tears filled her eyes.

"Umm are you alright? I didn't mean to upset you." I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair.

This wasn't how I planned.

"Um OK let's start from beginning. My name is Elizabeth Wakefield but you can call me Liz or Beth. I am daughter of the owners of 'Print and Pack' company. My parents have various other jobs but I guess you are most familiar with this company. Anyways I am not here for telling you about my parents I..." I was cut off by screeching of tyres as a car pulled in the driveway.

A middle aged lady stepped out with a man and a bunch of baskets.

The girl standing in front of me quickly yelled at someone to stay hidden then plastered a fake smile in her face as she pushed past me to help the lady with her baskets. From a distance itself I could tell that this lady was mean and bossy as she chattered off without showing any care for the poor girl carrying all that heavy stuff.

Suddenly I heard a loud thud. I turned to see another pretty girl sitting on the floor rubbing her back.

"Who are- Grace what are you doing here?!" A shrill voice came from behind me and for the umpteenth time I turned to face the same old lady. She had a permanent scowl etched in her face when suddenly her eyes narrowed back at the poor girl lying on the floor.

The girl-Grace audibly gulped. I looked between the two girls and immediately jumped to their rescue.

"Grace, my friend are you okay? I am sorry I bumped into you. You see a cat just came out of nowhere and I mistook it for a larger animal so I jumped in fear and ended up pushing you in here. I am sorry ma'am for the inconvenience caused by me." I turned towards the lady and used my most polished and refined voice.

Both the girls were eyeing me curiously. When suddenly the one named Grace jumped up and came beside me.

Guess she caught up.

"Who are you?" The lady questioned me again.

"My name is Elizabeth Wakefield ma'am" I replied. I could see recognition flit through her eyes.

"Daughter of Maria and Jacob Wakefield?" She questioned.

I nodded in response.

Her cold demeanour suddenly changed into a warm and welcoming one.
