Chapter 38 Pieces Of A Puzzle

Liz's PoV

"Whoa!"

"Dude what the hell!?" Rick grumbled.

Slowly my eyes adjusted to the sudden bright light.

"I'm sorry. I heard voices so I figured that you were up and I should bring up some food." A guy was standing at the door. I had seen him before but I just couldn't remember who he actually was.

"Well I am sure Liz is hungry. Right?" He looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

"No I am-" My stomach chose that moment to make its presence known with a very loud and embarrassing growl.

Both Rick and the guy standing at the door chuckled.

"I take that as a yes. Why are you standing there Adrian? Come on in. You remember Liz right?" Rick said.

"Yeah. Though I don't think she remembers me. We never officially met. Anyways hi I am Adrian." He kept the tray of food on the bed and extended one hand forward.

"Hey Adrian. I am-" I started but Adrian cut me off.

"Elizabeth Wakefield. I know." He said.

I shook his hand and gave a small smile.

"Contrary to what you believe, I do remember you. You are the one who helped Sienna right?" I asked.

"Uh yeah." He said.

"Dexi was really excited to meet you." Rick spoke up.

I raised an eyebrow and shot Rick a questioning look.

"He-he means that we were waiting for you and Sienna. Brandon told us you guys were coming." He glared at Rick.

Rick just shrugged nonchalantly.

"Well I knew Destiny would bring Liz to me. It would be hardly fair to keep me away from one of the most beautiful woman." He shot me another wink.

I rolled my eyes. "How many woman have you called most beautiful?" I asked.

"Plenty. But none of them were an angel like you." Rick grinned.

I laughed. "Angel? Really? Here I was thinking you were smooth with women." I said.

"Oh I am. It's just that angels make me speechless for my brain is confused." He said.

"How so?" I asked.

"My brain is confused, should I just stare at you or should I close my eyes and listen to your musical voice. It's really tough job." He sighed dramatically.

I laughed again. It was nice to just flirt with a hot guy without any worries.

Our prolonged eye contact was broken by a clearing of throat.

"The food is going cold." Adrian said.

"No worries. Liz is hot enough to heat the food up." Rick shot me a grin.

I rolled my eyes again but I couldn't suppress my smile.

"I'll um go check on Sienna." Adrian said and rushed out.

"How's Sienna?" I asked between bites of food.

"Dunno. I told you I was busy staring at you." He smiled at me again.

"Ohkay Edward Cullen, you have officially creeped me out." I said.

"I am going to ignore that comment." Rick muttered.
