Chapter 40 De-Bugged
Sebastian's PoV
"So... You work for the Guardian?" Sienna said.
"I have no idea-" Lydia started but Sienna cut her off.
"Cut the crap Lydia. I thought what my grandmother told me were all fictional tales. But clearly looking at you, it seems she told some truths too." Sienna said.
For someone who works with the Guardian, this Lydia girl should have been more careful, I mean leaving the curtains open while discussing potentially deadly information is not really a good thing.
"Rick, close the curtains." Lydia said.
Damn! Jinxed myself, didn't I.
The government should install better CCTV cameras on roads. It's a child play to hack into them and direct them in the desired direction. Though it does help that Ricky boy lives in an apartment facing the road.
"Well I guess it's time for bugs." I said to myself.
After a little time, my computer buzzed to life with a clear video of everyone in the room.
Who says bugs are useless?
"What are you doing Lydia?" Sienna asked.
"You want the truth? Well I am making sure you are the only one who hears it." Lydia said.
"I am not leaving this room." Rick said.
"Did I ask you to?" Lydia spoke.
Rick just glared at her.
They behave like children, trust God to give power of information to these kind of people.
Cue the sighs.
"What is happening!?" Sienna yelled.
Girl is strong, got to give her that.
"Your family belongs to a race of very powerful people holding information regarding something known as Gleichgewicht Des Lebens." Lydia said.
Balance of life. I thought
"Its German for balance of life." Wakefield said.
"Right." Lydia said.
"How are we involved in it?" Geek asked.
"To answer Adrian's question, you need to understand that your grandparents were involved in it too. Your ancestors were powerful and to prevent misuse of that power they met together and buried the power through a very complex ritual. Later on they found out that these power is still intact in their children. Hence every generation must undergo this ritual to keep the power in check. Problem is that which generation must undergo needs to be found out. That's why you are informed only after certain signs come up. Another problem is that you guys need to be on run because there is another family dead set on gaining this power." Lydia said.
"Talking about me, how nice. All this explanation is so boring. Why can't she be like go here in this place at this time so I can turn up there and get this over with." I thought to myself.
"Have there been any signs?" Wakefield asked.
"I don't know. I was supposed to report to Guardian but then I ran away from the institution. So to answer your question Sienna, no I don't work with the Guardian. Not anymore." Lydia said.
"Huh? Useless." I thought.
"Why are you telling us all this now?" Ricky boy asked.
"Because your parents have gone missing. This means your enemy is already on the move." Lydia said.
