Recap
Lydia, the girl who saved our protagonists Liz and Sienna from getting ambushed at Robert's place realizes that the people Guardian is looking for is actually them.
Chapter 33 Deep Within My Heart
Lydia's PoV
Unbelievable. Guardian is looking for them. I met them. Got information about them. Knew their names. Knew all about them from the Guardian computerized personal information database and yet they say they are searching for them.
The hell!
But then why didn't anyone connect the dots? There must be Guardian leaders aware of far more detailed stories. Like really!? We have a detailed database about each and every person but yet no one has ever filtered out these two?
I looked at Jonah's computer. Being the leader he has supreme access to all files and folders. Surely someone as skilled as him couldn't have missed out such a major detail.
Scouring through various files I found that there were no records for Elizabeth Wakefield or Sienna Walter. It was weird because as far as I remembered Robert, before his death had been working on finding them.
How is it possible that I could access their information and now the information doesn't exist in the database. Someone must have tampered with it. There is no question of hacking. It has multiple firewalls and security codes before a person can even enter then main coding. Robert too was working on them. To know about them he too must have accessed this information. Then why is it missing now?
What if he was killed to prevent him from telling us about their location?
This was a major thing. Somehow someone was watching over them and ensuring that they are not discovered by the Guardian. The question is why!?
Why go to such lengths to protect two girls who are positively clueless about their own ancestry unless the story which Jonah told me is true and someone else is trying to unlock the secret again.
I must inform Jonah about this.
But why would he believe me? I even lied to him about my escape.
All because of that idiot. God knows who he thinks he is, barging into a Guardian member's house without any weapon or backup. If I hadn't planted the smoke arrow or paid the Guardian guards that I had taken with me to keep quiet, God knows what would have happened.
The extents I go to for that good for nothing brat. He always considers himself superior. As if he and Nat are immortal.
He is so! Urgh why am I even thinking about him. He is the enemy Lydia. The freaking enemy who wouldn't hesitate to destroy you!
Nathan is dead to me. He.. he no longer exists. He is just memory. A memory of happy times when the most important thing for me was to look good for my boyfriend.
"Lydia?"
I jumped at the interruption. I turned towards the door to find Jonah standing there.
Oh shit!
"You ok?" Jonah asked.
"Yeah."
"Then care to explain what exactly are you doing on my computer? Didn't I dismiss you?" Jonah asked.
Ok Lydia, no more lies.
"I was searching for something." I said.
"Elaborate." Jonah said.
Ok Lydia. Tell him the truth.
I chanted this to myself and began.
"Jonah, I-" I started.
"Sir! We have found something. About the Chosen." A man suddenly barged in.
