Chapter 46

*Sapphire*

"Now now, open your eyes a bit. Adjust." Wizzy says, as Zayn slowly sits up and blinks a few times. I beam and clap my hands together.

"Oh Wizzy! Thank you so much!" She waves me off.

"Nah nah, it's nothing." She says.

"Thanks." Zayn croaks. He clears his throat.

"No problem. But you might wanna wait a bit for getting up." Wizzy says with a shrug.

"Hey Wiz?"

"Yes darling?"

"Can I talk to you? Alone?"

"Sure." We head out into one of the halls of her layer. "So what is it?" She asks as she faces me.

"Well...I had this weird vision. Like I was...facing my death. And then, boom! I just jumped off a cliff! And Zayn was running after me...It was weird."

"Hm...definitely interesting..."

"Yeah. Do you think this will take place in my future?"

"I'm not sure hun. But if it does, it's soon."

*Zayn*

What are they talking about? Why does it have to be private?

No. You know what. What I would like to know, is why I'm so dang thirsty.

I feel my eyes change red. My fangs poke out, and hang over my bottom lip. My throat becomes dry. I need something to drink.

A delicious smell wafts over to me. It's coming from outside...I need to follow it.

*Sapphire*

"Let's go for a little walk, yeah?" Wizzy asks me.

"What about Zayn?"

"He still needs to adjust. He was out for a long time."

"Oh, ok. Then sure. I'd love to take a walk."

"Fresh air does do good to the mind." Wizzy says. Is she saying that on perpose? Does she think I'm insane? And that's why I had the vision? No. I'm not insane.

We start walking outside, and it does feel nice out. Man, I did miss Echo. It feels so good to be here right now.

All of a sudden, something jumps in front of us, blocking our path. More like someone.

"EEK!" I immediately stop in my tracks. It's Zayn. And he looks hungry.

"Run!" Wizzy screeches.

"Aliens can get bit?"

"OF COURSE THEY CAN, VAMPIRE VENOM KILLS US! NIW LET'S MOVE!"

Oh my gosh! I didn't know that! HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT?!

"We need to stay calm." Wizzy says as we run. "WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" She wails. I roll my eyes.

"Way to stay calm, Wiz."

"Sorry!" She says.

All of a sudden, Zayn is right behind me. I scream. I start to run faster.

"Zayn stop!" I call. I keep running, until I see a cliff up ahead.

"Sapphire!" I turn around, and see Zayn stopping. He has tears streaming down his face. "Sapphire please stop! I'm sorry!"

I turn away and see the cliff coming closer. I look to the side, and sew myself in slow motion. I look alive. My blue hair blowing away from my face, my eyes sparkling. But I don't feel that way. I feel dead.

And then, I realize something. This is from my vision. I turn around, eyes wide.

"STOP!" Wizzy screams. No. This is different. I don't want to die.

I try to stop, but I can't. It's too late. I slip off the cliff and start to freefall with the air.

But someone grabs my hand. Zayn. He has a hungry look in his eyes again. Like he's fighting with himself? Well, now I have two decisions. I can let go and fall to a peaceful death, or I can let him pull me up and possibly bite me, and eventually the vampire venom will kill me painfully.

I let go.
