The flight was quiet and I sat with Ash, he was knackered as he had drank a little too much last night at the reception so spent the majority of it sleeping. I decided to text Vic

Deven:

Hi Vic, thank you for your company last night, if you hadn't have come I would have probably been a loner :) x

I twideled my phone between my fingers as I thought about him. I think last night I had slowly began to fall in love with him. My phone lit up and I smiled at how fast he was at responding and opened up the message

Vic:

Hey Deven, you're welcome and I'm sure that's not true, you're beautiful I'm sure you're very popular with everybody :p x

I closed the message and smiled before leaning on Ash's tattooed arm and falling asleep myself.

Back in Vegas I was counting down the hours before I had to work, Kacie obviously wasn't working tonight as she was on her two week vacation with Ronnie but I really could do with some company and right now the only place I wanted to be was at work. In the end I decided to just go a couple of hours earlier, maybe get some food there instead of cooking here. I walked into the Diner and Ash looked at me and then at the clock above the counter "Your keen" I laughed at  him and sat at the bar "I thought I'd eat here tonight" I announced as I grabbed a menu from the stack I looked through it and told Ash what I wanted "Could I just get a hot dog" I said as I pushed the menu away and went round to the bar to get myself a drink. The new guy arrived for his shift I said Hi to him and he looked at me weirdly before grabbing his bumbag and going to clean some of the tables. I shrugged as Ash passed me my hotdog "Ash where the hell are my onions?" he rolled his eyes at me "Surley you can live without onions for once" I grabbed the Mustard and squirted it on to the hotdog "So you and that Vic guy seemed to be getting it on on Saturday what's going on?" I shook my head as I swallowed "Nothing, I doubt anything could happen between us, he lives in San Diego, too far" Ash started to laugh and I looked up at him "what is so funny?" I asked him

"It's just you've obviously never let distance get in the way before" I had to agree but that was different  "Yes but that was with Jacky and he was actually my boyfriend" I finished off my hotdog and looked at the clock "I need to start my shift anyway" I went and grabbed my notepad and pen before starting my shift. The night went pretty slowly as it was a Monday and not many people came in. I could tell that the next two weeks without Kacie were going to drag and be extremely boring. Once my shift was over I went straight home and went straight to bed.

2 weeks later

It was a Friday and today Kacie would be returning home, life had been extremely boring over the past two weeks and I couldn't wait to see Kacie and hear all about her's and Ronnie's honeymoon. I changed out of my clothes into some clean ones ready for my shift at the Diner. It was Friday so it was bound to be busy I'd eaten here most nights recently as I couldn't be bothered to go grocery shopping or cook on my own in that apartment. I had spent a lot of my time texting Vic. They had just started their tour with another band they were good friends with called Sleeping With Sirens and they were stopping in our city tonight. Unfortunatley I couldn't get the night off of work to go and see them as it was a Friday and Friday's were always busy at the diner and obviously Kacie was on her two week holiday still even if she would be home in a few hours. I got on with work and the first hour or so had flown by and then Kacie and Ronnie walked into the Diner "KACIE!" I squeeled as I ran over to her and hugged her with all of her bags, she hugged me back and chuckled "Oh my gosh you have to tell me everything!" I said grabbing her hand and pulling her over to the bar. Ronnie followed and sat talking with Ash "So, come on how was it?" she smiled

"It was perfect! Every second was amazing, you would have loved it there it was so perfect!" I smiled at her widely "I'm so glad you had a good time! You'll have to tell me more about it later, I'm afraid I'm still working" I grunted as I saw a few people enter. She winked at me and I walked over to the customers who had just entered and introduced myself handing them some menus. I looked over at Ronnie and Kacie and sighed feeling that all to familuar sad feeling sink in that I was alone still. I walked over to them and asked if they wanted anything "a cold drink" I nodded knowing she would want a coca-cola same as Ronnie. I got them their drinks and then went over to take the table I had previously been too's order. I got there drinks and gave Ash their food order. "So what's new with you?" Kacie asked me as she sipped her drink through a straw. Both her and Ronnie were staring up at me as I leant on the other side of the bar "What?" I asked looking between the two of them Ronnie chuckled and then spoke "You and Vic were totally hitting it off at the reception" I could feel myself blushing but then I remembered if I wasn't working I could be with him right now

"I don't think anythings going to come of it, the distance is just too much" I stated as Ash came over to join in our conversation "That's never stopped you before" Ronnie announced

"I said the same god damn thing!" Ash butted in. I shoved Ash and then looked back to Kacie and Ronnie "He's actually in Vegas tonight, but I was working so I couldn't make the showt" I stated shrugging my shoulder "Oh my god! You should go find him!" Kacie anounced standing up "I'll cover your shift" I pushed her back down into her chair

"It's too late now" I stated simply smiling weakly as Ash nudged me and handed me a tray. I piled the food onto the tray and proceeded to take it over to the table.

The Diner had closed a good 20 minutes ago now and the only people here were me, Ash, Ronnie and Kacie. Carl had left us to clean and lock up which I was cool with. I was wiping down the bar when I heard the bell on the door sound. I turned towards it to tell whoever it was we were closed but when I caught site of Vic in the doorway my breath caught in my throat and I smiled and walked over to him "Vic! What are you doing here? It's so good to see you" I hugged him

"I thought I'd come down and see you at work" I couldn't get the smile off of my face. Ronnie and Kacie came over to us and they both had cheesy grins on their faces "I guess we will be heading back to the apartment, see you in a bit" Kacie said as she took Ronnie's hand and left the Diner. I looked back to Vic "Take a seat, you hungry?" I asked as I walked over to the bar where Ash was "Ash doesn't mind cooking one last time tonight right?" I asked him

"I don't mind but you're locking and cleaning up after" I nodded and handed Vic a menu as he sat at the bar. "Could I just get a large fries?" I nodded

"I think I'll have the same, I'm not too hungry plus I think I can do this myself" I winked at Ash and he smiled "See you Monday then" I nodded and watched Ash as he put on his jacket and dissapeared through the door. I put the fries on and grabbed some glasses from the shelf "What would you like to drink?" I asked him

"Coke will be fine" I poured some cokes and then finished off the fries before serving them up and giving a plate to Vic "So where's the rest of your band?" I asked wondering why he had come here alone "I decided to come alone, the others are back on the bus"

It was already 1am when I looked up at the clock "I'm guessing you're not travelling tonight?" Vic smiled "Yeah we are but I made sure we could hold it off until the early hours" I smiled at him and there was an awkward silence for a few minutes until our eyes met again and we both froze for a second before leaning into each other and our lips conecting. The kiss deepened and my fingers were tangling through his hair. When we parted I looked up at him and blushed. "Hey how about you show me Las Vegas's night life?" I smiled and took his hand completley forgetting to clean up. I turned off the lights and locked up the Diner before me and Vic dissapeared into the night.
