Chapter Three

It was Wednesday night and I was in bed watching television. Work had been a lot more quiet than usual and I had been falling asleep at the bar a lot. I was glad to be back home and in my bed. Kacie burst into my room  disturbing my quiet time "DEVEN GUESS WHAT!" she shouted making me sit up straight "What?" I asked her concerned

"Well I entered this competition to win FIR meet and greets and I won! You have to come!" I groaned

"Kacie I can't I have to work, I need the money right now" i told her "You know I would though Kacie" she smiled "It's cool, but just so you know, I'm going to be home later than usual tomorrow night" I laughed at her "Kacie you're 20 years old for gods sake I don't care you can do what you want, you don't have a curfew just because I'm older and live with you" I told her before turning the TV off "turn the light off when you leave" I asked her as she left the room. I snuggled into my pillows and fell asleep.

I woke up hearing the radio on in the kitchen "Kacie you're never up this early, what's going on?" I asked her "Well Falling In Reverse are going to be interviewd on this station at any second so be quiet!" I rolled my eyes great I thought as I grabbed the box of cereal from the worktop and poured some into a bowl. I listened to the radio as Kacie turned it up so she could hear it better. "So I have Ronnie Radke and Ryan Seamen of Falling In Reverse with me today, before their show here tonight"

"Hey" I heard Ronnie's voice rattle through the speakers of her stereo as he began talking about how stoked he was to be back here again. I blanked them out by eating my cereal really loudly. 

The morning dragged and I hadn't done anything I couldn't wait to get to work and have this day be over already. Once it was done I probably wouldn't have to listen to stupid interviews and falling in reverses album constantly on repeat "Okay Deven I'm heading out now" she said staring at me from the door "You couldn't give me a lift before work could you?" she asked me. I groaned

"Yeah why the hell not, just let me get changed" I said as I walked by her and into my bedroom. We were soon in the car "Dev, what's up today? You're not really yourself?" I turned to her

"I'm fine just really tired" I lied "I think it's just work and all of the extra hours I'm doing I'm sure I'll get used to it" Kacie sighed

"I'm really gutted you can't come with me tonight" Kacie stated as we pulled up at the venue. I smiled at her "Go have fun! Don't worry about me" I gave her a push as she got out and I waved before heading to work. 

Work was once again quiet and I spent the majority of it in the back lounge talking to Carl and his wife who owned this place. It was 11:15pm so I decided to go out and help Ash the cook clear up. He was stood by the grill so I wipped his ass with a towel that was hanging out of my bum bag "Hey Deven, a few people just came in a second ago, Kacie is with them" I groaned

"Are you sure Kacie is with them? She was meant to be at a gig tonight?" Ash shrugged and I grabbed my notepad and pen from the bar before heading over there and taking there order. I caught site of the group I knew who that was! Shit! I thought to myself why had she brought all of Falling In Reverse to the Diner with her!.....

Kacie's POV

"Oh my god I can't believe I am meeting you guys, your music is seriously amazing!" I beamed looking up at the five amazing musicians stood in front of me "Woah, I was expecting someone a bit younger, how old are you?" Ronnie Radke the lead singer asked me "I'm 20" I replied looking between them all. Ronnie smirked  "So you won two VIP passes where's your friend?" Ryan asked confused as to why I was the only person here. I bit my lip "Well the girl I was meant to be coming with works at the same Diner as I do but she had to work tonight so couldn't make it" I smiled at them before handing them my CD so that they could sign it. "No, let's go to this diner we are all hungry anyway and we can surprise your friend" I smiled widely 

"Really? Omg she will be so happy she'd love that!" I watched Ronnie as he spoke to his driver and then we headed for the Diner.

Deven's POV

I approached the table and gulped they were all pretty deep in conversation. Kacie looked up "Omg Deven! Surprise" I smiled weakly before looking down at my feet "Deven Taylor! What the hell!" Ronnie shouted making the rest of the guys look up at me I smiled "Hey, long time no see" I stated "What can I get you all?" I said looking between them all. Kacie stared at me

"Wait up, wait up, you know these guys?" Kacie asked me and I nodded 

"Surprise" I said bitterly at her as she looked bewildered and in complete shock. They eventually told me what they all wanted and I walked off to go get their drinks. I shook my head when I got behind the bar and into the cooking area "Ash omg" I stated handing him the order "I can't believe her" I said as I grabbed 6 glasses from the shelf below the bar and filled them with Coca-cola

"Why what has she done?" Ash quizzed me

"I have a long, long past with those guys she's with" I said simply before putting the glasses onto a tray and taking them over to their table. "Here you go" I said smiling this time as I placed the drinks onto the table in front of them. They thanked me and I walked off. However Kacie decided to follow me "Dev, wait up" I stopped and turned to her 

"What's up?" I asked her 

"Why didn't you tell me you knew them?" I shook my head

"Because it's in my past, and I hate talking about it" I stated before carrying on walking back to the bar. I sat on a stool by the bar and looked over at Ash "Looks like you've got a lot of explaining to do when you both get home" Ash stated and I nodded as I grabbed a newspaper that was next to me and began to read through it. My hand was firmly leant on my forehead as I flicked the pages one by one. Eventually their food was done. I looked at my watch it was already midnight but the rule here was we weren't allowed to close until every customer had left. I grabbed the tray and took it over to them handing them each their food "Hey do you do breakfast here?" Ronnie asked me 

"Yes we do" I replied looking to Kacie who had Ronnie's arm around her shoulder. I went to turn away and start clearing the tables "Hey Deven, why don't you sit with us?" Derek asked me I turned to him "Sorry I'm working" I said as I took the tray back to the stack behind the bar. I cleaned the bar off and then the tables and they were still sat around that table laughing and joking. I went into the back "Carl can I go home, I'm not feeling too good" he threw his arms up

"We're not busy, turn the sign over on the door when you leave, Kacie is here anyway" I nodded and thanked him before grabbing my coat and bag from the back room. I put it on and turned the sign so that it read closed "Deven is your shift over already" I looked at my watch 

"It was over an hour ago Kacie" I opened the door and headed over to my car unlocking it and sitting in the front seat for a few minutes. I grabbed a ciggerette from my coat pocket and lit it opening the window. I never used to smoke but when I started dating Max he was always smoking and I guess I just started through him. I decided to call Max and see how he was, he was never any good at break up's and I wanted to make sure he was okay "Max hey" 

"Deven, why are you calling, I thought we were through?" 

"Yeah we are but that doesn't mean we can't still be friends Max" I heard him sigh

"Yeah I know, I miss you though Dev" I smiled into the phone

"Aw well we can go out tomorrow if you like?" I asked him

"Yeah that sounds good, pick me up tomorrow night then?" I put the phone down and started the car, driving back home to sleep and get tonight out of my head...
