Chapter Twenty Five

It was 1 in the afternoon and I was getting ready to go over to Vic's parent's restaurant when I heard someone knock on the door, I went over and answered it seeing Mike "Hey Deven, is Vic around?" I shook my head

"er no he went out with Tony I think" he shrugged "Did you want to come in? I have to go over to your Mom's restaurant in a minute but you can hang if you like" he smiled

"No it's cool, I will drive you over to my Mom's, I'm hungry anyway" I laughed at him and let him into the house whilst I finished getting ready  "you don't happen to know what's up with Vic do you Mike?" I called over as I tied my hair back  "What do you mean?"

"Well he's been acting strange around me..." I looked over at Mike through the mirror and he shook his head "Mike I know you know so you may as well tell me" he stood

up and walked over to me "I spoke to him on the phone last night because I noticed you two not looking like you usually do together, you seemed a bit distant" I nodded "Well I asked him what was up and he said he found out a lot about your past he wasn't too keen on" I squinted my eyes together "Basically he found your instagram and Vic being Vic he decided to delve into it a bit and search through it" I shook my head

"I haven't used my instagram since I was with Max, so I don't really know what's on it" I shrugged "Should we get going?" I asked grabbing my bag from the chair in the kitchen. Mike nodded and I followed him out of the house.

I went on instagram when we were in the car and looked through the pictures I had posted on it, I hadn't used it in at least a year but looking through them I could sort of understand why Vic might be a little upset or disturbed even...there were a lot of pictures of me and Lexus Amanda and then one of me with that ankle monitor on that sort of brought back too many horrid memories and I switched it off at that point and looked over at Mike "Hey Mike, I totally understand why Vic might be upset" 

Mike nodded "I did look on your instagram last night, it was quite interesting" I shook my head

"My time in America hasn't been great, I don't like my past and I really just want it gone, but every time I try to someone finds out about it and brings it back up" Mike smiled at me

"Deven, we all have a past, Vic has a pretty bad one but, you can't keep elements of your past from the people you love" I smiled at Mike as we pulled up at the restaurant. I walked in and his Mom walked over to Mike "Hey Mom, I gave Deven a lift and I'm sorta hungry" his Mom chuckled at him and gave him a hug before turning to me "Hi Deven, so we don't open up for another hour, but you've worked in this industry before so I'll just show you where everything is and then you can get practise by waiting on Mike" I nodded

"Sure Mrs Fuentes" I smiled at her and followed her into the kitchen. 

I walked over to Mike who was on the phone "Hi can I take your order?" Mike couldn't contain himself and started laughing "Hey Vic I'll call you back, your girlfriend's serving me!" I smiled and he put the phone back in his pocket "erm well the guy's are coming down with our manager to talk over a few things so can you come back then" I nodded

"So Vic's coming here?" he nodded and I walked back over to the bar area to get myself a drink. Sooner or later the restaurant opened so I started serving people. It felt good to be working again. Their manager and Jaime were here now and they were just waiting on Vic and Tony by the looks of it. I went over to the bar to grab some drinks and took them over to the people who had ordered them, the door opened and Vic and Tony walked in, I smiled at Vic and he smiled slightly at me before looking away.. I left it a couple of minutes before going over to their table "Hi can I get you something to drink?" they all ordered their drinks and food at the same time which made it easier. I grabbed their drinks and took them over to them before going to clean some tables. 

They were in here all afternoon just sat around talking and they all seemed pretty stoked on something and I wanted to know what it was their manager had confirmed with them. Vic's Mom let me go so I went over and sat with PTV as their manager had left a little while back and they were all just looking over things. I sat next to Jaime and Vic looked over at me "Hey, you wanna go talk?" I smiled at him, I was glad he wasn't mad at me for storming off to bed last night. I nodded and he slid out of the booth grabbing my hand and taking me over to a smaller booth a bit away from the table they were all sat at "About yesterday I just want to apologise" I shook my head

"Vic, I know what's up with you, I just wish you would talk to me so I can smooth things over?" he sighed "Mike told me earlier when he came over to look for you" Vic nodded

"I'm sorry I just" I hushed him 

"Do you want me to explain anything?" he shrugged and I pulled my phone out going onto instagram "I've been with a few guys since being in America" I began to explain about mine and Jacky's long term relationship and then Ronnie and then Max. However I couldn't bring myself to tell him about my alcohol problem.. "I wish I could forget about everything, I'm nothing like that anymore, I've changed, I promise you" he smiled at me and lent over the table kissing me softly "I know, I was just worried about you and wanted to know a bit more about you I guess" I followed Vic back over to the guys and they were all smiling at us "Have you told her the news!?" Jaime shouted.. I think he had had one too many tequila shots Vic shook his head and I nudged him wanting to know what they were on about "Erm, we are going on a UK tour" I smiled at first but then realised they were going to my home country "What's up?" Vic noticed my change in emotion

"Oh well I'm from the UK and I don't know"

"You are coming with us you know?" I smiled weakly. I haven't spoken to my parents in a long, long time not since I'd last moved back out here which was a good four years ago now... I felt guilty about not calling them or texting them or letting them know how I was doing and stuff. Vic wrapped his arm around my waist "Is everything ok?" I nodded 

"Yeah, I thought you were doing warped this Summer?" Vic nodded

"We are, as soon as we get back from this tour, it starts in the next couple of weeks" I smiled "So are you going to come? You haven't been home in a while I'm guessing? and you could show us around too" 

"Sure I'll come" Vic kissed my cheek and I followed them all out to their cars, I got into Mike's with Vic whilst Jaime got in Tony's.
