I was stood with everybody else outside of the chapel in which Ronnie and Kacie were to be married. I was stood with Jacky, Derek, Kat and Ryan. "Do you have a date Deven?" Ryan asked me and I shook my head "Don't be ridiculous Ryan" I answered him as his long term girlfriend Jenn appeared next to him I smiled and waved at her as she kissed Ryan. Even Jacky had a date and Ron was stood with his girlfriend at the other side of the garden we were stood in. Eventually Ronnie arrived and he looked amazing, his hair was pin straight and he wore a suit and he looked really, really smart I smiled at him as he walked into the chapel and everyone else followed. I allowed Jacky, Ryan,Derek and their girlfriends to walk down one of the pews and I sat at the end of that one as we waited for Kacie to arrive. I was feeling really nervous for her and excited too. I couldn't wait to see what she looked like. When she did finally make an appearence I was astonished she looked so amazing and so, so beautiful it made me want to cry. However it did put a realisation into my head. I am almost 26. She's 21 and she's the one who is getting married and stuff and I'm stood here, the only single person here apart from Ash. Everyone sat back down and I didn't feel happy anymore I felt sad that I was so alone. Maybe I deserved it for all the bad things I had done in the past. I looked down at my hands as the vicar began to read the vows out. I looked up momentarily to see the two of them so happy and the way they looked at each other made my heart melt. No one had ever looked at me like that Ronnie had never looked at me like that when we were together, netiher did Jacky or Max... No one. I could feel tears threatening my eyes but I blinked them away. This was meant to be a happy day for Kacie. I was so lost in thought that I didn't realise someone walk in and stand next to me I appologised and moved up a little allowing the person to sit down. The person touched my shoulder and I jerked out of my thoughts to see Vic staring down at me "V-vic what are you doing here?" he smiled
"Ronnie invited me" I smiled up at him and I looked back up at Kacie who had this cheesy little grin on her face as she looked at me from the stand. She had obviously planned this!
The ceremony was lovely and all I wanted to do now was go to the reception and drink and eat and dance until my feet hurt. I followed Vic out of the chappel and slapped him on the arm "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" I asked him
"Because I wanted it to be a surprise" he replied as he put his arm over my shoulder "Now come on I drove here so you don't have to get a taxi" I smiled and followed him to his car. "You enjoying your time away from Vegas?" he asked me as we followed Kacie and Ronnie's car to the venue
"Yeah, it's nice to have a weekend away" we soon got to the venue and we walked in with Kacie and Ronnie, there were all ready a lot of people here. Mainly people who hadn't been invited to the wedding. They had got here earlier and everyone cheered as Kacie and Ronnie walked in hand in hand I hugged them both and congratulated them before following Vic to where he had gone to the bar where the rest of his band mates were. He introduced me to them all and then they dissapeared well apart from him and Mike his brother. "You want a drink?" Vic asked as the bar man came over to us "Oh it's fine I'll get them" Vic laughed at me "Ugh fine, I'll have a white wine please" I turned to Vic "I'm buying the next round ok?" he nodded in a sarcastic way and I thanked the bar man when he handed me my drink. We stood at the bar and spoke for a while mainly about my job "Do you ever have time off of work?" he asked me "Hardly ever, I get my weekends and that's it" he nodded "I only work at night though so I don't really mind it that much" he agreed
"Come on let's hit the dancefloor!" Mike anounced as he saw Tony and Jamie over on the dancefloor. I laughed as he walked over to them and then Vic gave me a look "Come on I know you want to" I rolled my eyes playfully at him "Look Kacie is over there with Ash?" I smiled at him and grabbed his arm as we made our way over to where Kacie was stood talking with Ash. Ash dissapeared before we even got there so all that was left was Kacie "Aw you came to dance with me" she grabbed us both by the hands and smiled "You can dance right Vic?" he laughed and shook his head "I don't really know" Ronnie came over to us and wrapped his arms around Kacie
"I'm really happy for the both of you" I announced as I let go of Kacie's hand. she smiled at me and hugged me tightly before letting me go and walking off with Ronnie to go and speak with some other people. A slow song came on and I decided it was time to go get myself another drink "Hey Deven, wait up"
"You not want to dance?" I looked up at Vic and smiled
"Sure, why not" I took his hand and he smiled at me as he pulled me back onto the dancefloor
"May I have this dance?" he asked as he lifted my hand up I nodded and blushed as he put his hand on my waist. I put my arms around his neck "Sorry I'm probably no good at this" he stated I giggled "Don't worry I'm no good either" I smiled up at him. I looked over his shoulder to see Ronnie and Kacie both stood there, Kacie winked at me and stuck her tongue out. I was so embaressed and I pushed my face into Vic's shoulder, I felt his chest rumble with the small chuckle that escaped his lips. The song finally came to an end and then it was time for Ronnie and Kacie to have their first dance, me and Vic went over to the bar and grabbed another drink before going over and watching Ronnie and Kacie have their first dance as a married couple. The night ended shortly after and we all stood underneath the veranda, it was raning really heavily I said bye and hugged all of the FIR guy's and Kacie as she was off on her honeymoon with Ronnie in a few hours. They got into their cab and drove off leaving just me and Vic "Well I gotta head back to San Diago now"
"You're going already?" I asked, he nodded
"Sorry, we have a show to play tomorrow so we all need to get back" I smiled at him
"Well it was nice to see you again" I sighed "Keep in touch yeah?" he smiled and stroked my hair
"Yeah I have your number, thanks for the dance" he winked at me and ran over to the car that the rest of his band were sat in. He waved to me from the back window and I was alone again in the dark. I had no umbrella and no car to get back to Michaels so I decided to sit down on a bench that was near the entrance and have a ciggerette before calling DJ to see if he could come and pick me up.
I was sat in the front seat of DJ's car and he was singing and drumming on his steering wheel to Pantera. I was leant against the window feeling sorry for myself "God Deven smile!" I turned to him and he sighed "What do you want me to do? You know I'm no good at comforting people" I smiled a little "It's cool DJ" I said as I sunk further into the seat. When we got in I went straight to DJ's room and fell asleep in my clothes on his bed.
The next day I had a flight to catch back to Vegas DJ and Michael accompanied me to the airport "You should come stay in Vegas with me sometime" I told Michael as I gave him a goodbye hug "Next time we're in Vegas we're staying at your place got it?" I smiled at them
"Got it" I then headed over to catch my flight turning back to wave at them before I dissapeared.
