Chapter Twenty Two

The week went slow and I was stood anxiously waiting for Vic to get here outside of the church with Ronnie, Jacky, Charlotte and Derek. Vic soon arrived and I winced as soon as I saw him, he came over to me and kissed me "God I missed you babe" I hugged him tightly and didn't let go for ages, well not until Ronnie told us to get a move on. I grabbed his hand tightly as we walked into the church and sat down in one of the pews. Vic didn't let go of my hand and I cried the whole way through, Ronnie and everyone else were crying for Kacie but I was crying for kacie and also the fact that I had cheated on Vic. I made myself sick and I couldn't live with Vic with this weight on my shoulders. I was going to tell him as soon as we got out of this church... The funeral was finished and I thanked the vicar and everyone for doing the service for us before grabbing Vic and dragging him over to a quiet part of the graveyard. He hugged me tightly when he saw how upset I was and I pushed him away "Vic when I tell you what happened when you were gone you'll never touch me again" he looked at me and looked at his feet before looking back up "I cheated on you when you left" I stated as I sobbed. I looked up at him through my blurry eyes and he looked saddened 

"Did you really?" I nodded and he looked as if he was going to cry "Deven, why? I thought you were in love with me I thought we had a good thing?" I looked up at him

"Vic we do we have a great thing and I love you more than anything it's just you left at a really bad time and I just needed someone to hold me and" Vic shushed me and looked at me

"Don't talk to me okay?" I watched him as he walked away and I didn't move I just watched as he made his way out of the yard and down the path. I stood there still for a long time until Ronnie came over to me "Hey Deven what's up babe?" I looked at him 

"I told Vic I cheated on him" I sobbed as Ronnie grabbed me into a hug 

"Deven you shouldn't have told him that! Vic is a super sensitive guy you know that" I nodded

"I couldn't keep it from him" Ronnie kissed my forehead 

"Where did he go" I pointed to the gate and Ronnie let go of me before running in the direction Vic had left. What was he doing?

Vic's POV

I sat on a bench around the corner to clear my head a little, why would she cheat on me? I thought she loved me and only me? I heard running footsteps and looked up to see Ronnie stood in front of me "Mind if I sit down?" I nodded and moved up the bench a tad "I slept with Deven" I looked across at him and I honestly wanted to strangle him, but I wouldn't win. I clenched my fists and he sighed "I wish I hadn't, I took advantage of her, she was vulnerable and I could tell she felt alone and she hasn't had any sexual contact with anyone in a long time" I looked across at him "If you are going to be mad at anyone let it be me because Deven is so, so lovely and she honestly hates herself for what she did, and I hate myself for allowing it to happen" I blinked and looked down at the floor 

"I don't know if I can forgive her though Ronnie" Ronnie sighed again

"At least try? She loves you so, so much Vic" I nodded and stood up before leaving Ronnie on the bench to go and find Deven. 

I found her where I had left her, she was on her own in the yard sat on the grass with her legs crossed, I stood in front of her and she peered up at me I held my hand out so she could stand up but she refused shaking her head. I could now see how bad she truly did feel about hurting me, I sat down opposite her and pulled her up so that she was sat on my lap and I just hugged her not saying anything whilst she cried into my shoulder "I love you Deven okay, I love you so much please don't cry babe" I hugged her as tight as I could without hurting her and eventually she calmed down. I unwrapped my arms from her and pulled her face up from my shoulder "Look at the state of you" I used my fingers to wipe away the tears on her face and she smiled at me a little "I hate today" I shook my head at her "Yeah today's a bad day, but tomorrow's a new day and we are going to start our life together okay?" she shook her head at me

"You can't just forgive me like that Vic, I cheated on you" I stroked her cheek

"I would never forgive anyone for doing what you did but, Ronnie spoke to me and told me the truth about taking advantage of you and, I'm at least going to try and just hope you won't do it again" 

"Vic you know I would never ever do anything like this again, me and Ronnie had a chance to work a long, long time ago and it wasn't what I feel for you" I smiled at her and stood up bringing her up with me "Let's go back to the apartment and get your stuff. We are leaving tonight" she looked up at me a small smile playing on her lips as I grabbed her hand and took her back home.

We got back to the apartment and Ronnie was sat on the sofa with his head in his hands "Go get your stuff together, I'll go check on Ronnie" Deven nodded and went into her room to grab all of her stuff "Hey man what's up?" he looked up at me

"Hey not much, you and Deven alright now?" I nodded "Seriously Vic I'm fine now, are you and Deven off?" 

"Yeah, you going to be okay man?" he smiled 

"Yeah, yeah man I'll be fine but look after Deven okay? I'm going to get Ryan to move in here anyway so don't worry about me" I nodded 

"We will probably come visit again soon, I don't want to take Deven away completley from her friends and stuff" he patted my shoulder and smiled at me

"Go, go spend the rest of your lives together, don't worry about me I'm fine, tell Deven not to worry either I know what she's like and tell her I'm sorry" he got up and left the sofa going over to his bedroom. He wasn't okay and you could tell, I got my phone out of my pocket and called Ryan "Hey man"

"Hey Vic how's it going?"

"Yeah fine, look me and Deven need you to keep an eye on Ronnie, he doesn't seem to be doing good" I heard Ryan sigh

"Yeah I know, me and Derek are going to move into the apartment in the next couple of days. Are you and Deven finally leaving then?"

"Yeah we are"

"Okay dude, tell Deven I'll miss her" I chuckled and said goodbye before going in to help Deven pack her things.
