Liam slept throughout the day, which gave me plenty of time to think. Was this seriously going to happen tonight? I wasn't even sure of it. Did I trust Tony and Kellin enough with my life, as well as Liam's? I wasn't sure.

Around four in the evening, Liam came to. I smiled slightly at him, trying not to give away that something was wrong. Well, not necessarily wrong, but something wasn't right either. He didn't speak, he simply took my hand in his as we sat there in silence. "Can I ask what's wrong?" he finally asked me, rubbing small circles with his thumb on the back of my hand. I bit my lip, replying, "nothing."

The day was passing incredibly slowly, and the fact that everything and everywhere was quiet didn't help matters. Every once in a while Daniel would open the door, looking at us quietly before leaving us once again. Every time he did I could feel Liam tense up dramatically, which worried me. He was so weak, I knew he couldn't afford anything to potentially jeopardize his health.

Around six that evening I heard a car door slam, presumably indicating Tony and Kellin's arrival home. I sat in anticipation, wondering if they were going to come talk to us. They didn't. Three hours later we were brought food by Daniel, who acted the same as ever. It was obvious he didn't know what was going on.

I assumed it was about eleven o'clock when I finally turned to Liam. "We're leaving," I said softly, holding his hands in mine. He looked at me strangely. "What?" he asked, obviously lost. I sighed, leaning against the wall. "Tony is sneaking out tonight, running to a house about ten miles away. He's gonna contact authorities. If he's not back by six am, though, Kellin is supposed to distract Daniel so we can get away." I said all of this in one breath, so by the time I was done I was gasping for breath.

Liam said nothing for a long few minutes. Finally he sighed. "And you believe that they will do this?" I smiled meekly. "What other choice do we have?" Liam was quiet again. I squeezed his hand gently. "We need to get you to a hospital.." My voice grew quieter as I kept speaking. I was trying to be strong for him but it was hard. I wasn't used to being the strong one.

Sighing slightly, I leaned against the wall. It was getting late, I could tell. I must've dozed off because suddenly I was shaken awake by Liam. "I heard a noise," he said quietly. I got up quickly, wondering if it was Kellin or Daniel or someone else.

"Where the fuck is Tony?" I suddenly heard Daniel yell in the next room. I froze, along with Liam, who moved closer to me. "Don't talk," he whispered in my ear. I was shaking violently. This was all happening so fast. I thought I was prepared but in reality I wasn't.

"How should I know?" I heard Kellin say nonchalantly. How he was remaining calm was beyond me. "You know." I barely heard Daniel's response, and silently thanked God for the thin walls. "I don't." There was a slight pause in Kellin's response. "Daniel, put the gun down." My heart stopped.

"Tell me where Tony is." Daniel said, his voice small but evil. "You're fucking crazy, Daniel." I heard Kellin's voice shaking but he wouldn't back down. It suddenly dawned on me. He wanted to die. Julia was dead. He loved her, he needed to be with her again. Love made you do stupid things. I glanced at Liam before pressing my ear against the wall.

"I don't know where he is! I'm not his guardian." Kellin snapped. I heard movement. "Kellin, don't be an idiot. Put the gun down." My head shot up, as did Liam's. I had absolutely no idea where this was going. I was terrified.

"No, Daniel, you stop being an idiot! What the fuck are you trying to do? You've killed the only girls Tony and I ever loved! Why? Jesus Christ, why?" Kellin screamed. His voice was shaking madly, and I knew he was crying. There was more movement but almost an instant reply from Daniel. "I loved her! And he took her away! I lost everything. My parents beat me my whole life! Never knew my grandparents. I loved her, and she left. He took her away. And now she has to fucking die."

I started shaking. He never loved me. He hated me. He abused me, raped me. Liam saved me. Truly, he was my guardian angel.

Daniel's parents abused him, which I had never known. But that didn't mean he could beat me. To rape me. Make me want to die. He was the worst thing I'd ever encountered.

"Put the damn gun down, Daniel. No one else needs to get hurt." Kellin said, more calmly this time. "No! She deserves to die. And so does he. So do I." Daniel said, his voice shaking worse than Kellin's had. He was sobbing. I could hear it. Heart wrenching sobs, one that made your heart ache for him, despite how badly he had hurt you, or anyone else. Liam wrapped an arm around my body that was shaking with sobs.

There was no sound in the house except for Daniel's sobs. "I deserve to die. Not her. I love her." he cried. "Daniel, don't you dare fucking do that!" Kellin suddenly screamed. "I hurt her! I deserve to die!" Daniel screamed. I heard him fall to his knees. "Take the damn gun away from your head, Daniel. No one else needs to die. You need help, that's it." I heard Kellin say. My breath caught. Daniel was going to kill himself.

"I can't do this." Daniel said quietly. I jumped up. All the memories of the good times we shared came rushing back. I hated him, yes. I didn't want him in my life. But that didn't mean I wanted him to die. Kellin was right, no one else had to die.

I turned the handle of the door and it opened easily. "Daniel!" Kellin and I screamed at the same time, right as Daniel put a bullet through his own skull.
