Can't do it

chapter 15

    After my nightmare I called Toby, waking him up "Why are you calling so early?" he yawned and it sounded like he rolled over to check the time "It's 4 in the morning Rei" he was clearly annoyed "Baby I love you so much, more than anything, you know that right? You're my one and only forever. I don't say these type of things... ever, but I love you Toby" a tear slid down my cheek colliding with my phone making me having to wipe it off "A-Are you c-crying?" he stuttered shocked  and I heard from the other room "LAME ASS" I had to chuckle "shut it Danny!" I shout back, bringing my attention to a giggling Toby "always fighting with your sister still... Rei, I'm really happy to hear you say those things... You're my one and only too... forever, I promise..."

   That was all a year ago, I'm a senior now, and actually I have a week before graduation. Unlike most teenagers, my graduation will be perfect, because I'm proposing to the love of my life in front of the whole school. The teachers gave the okay to do  it. If I could keep my grades up this last week, so I was the meanest boyfriend and told Toby I wouldn't kiss him at all this week or anything, not even dates. "What?! Why?" He... well to say the least he was upset about it. I didn't want to tell him I had to keep my grades up or else stuff wouldn't go as planned. 

   "Want to come over after school?" He'd asked everyday for the past two weeks, but my answer was the same the entire time "No, I have to study" which then he would reply to "We could study together~" he made it harder and harder to keep studying. "No  because we both know what that leads to." I respond gripping the strap to my backpack trying to restrain myself from kissing him, but it only made my knuckles white. "I can see you holding yourself back... did I do something bad?" he said after glancing at my knuckles and my gritted teeth "Baby, you are the angel of this hell. You could never do bad" I say looking into his amazing blue eyes but they looked angry, and he stopped in his tracks  "Then why won't you kiss me!" That sure as hell gathered unwanted attention of almost everyone at school. I glanced around and smiled as if it was just a lovers quarrel and turned back to him, lowering my voice "You'll be happier not knowing right now." I mumbled running off to Derek's car. 

     I hopped in and Derek waved at Toby but Toby looked away and ran to the nearby park. I sighed " I hate this, I want to hold him..." Derek was still smiling " Keep you're grades up and you can do so much more" he laughed like he was a maniac. It was at that moment Danny decided to make her presence known "ew, dad, I'm like right here." he just chuckled "You're not 'like' right here, you are here, like literally" he tried using a higher voice to be like a teenage girl which made even me laugh because he also fluttered his eyelashes.

    "Oh mai gawd dad stawp" she drew the ending of the words which only made me laugh harder ""you live with freaks, no wonder you fit in so well with them.""  Dammit, seriously, no I'm going to propose to my wonderful boyfriend next week so no making me depressed  "" Well you can try proposing but who knows if he'll even say yes? I mean I bet he's crying his eyes out to another man about how mean you are, then the man will look into Toby's lightening blue eyes, lean in and-"" I had to stop it "OKAY THAT'S ENOUGH" I shouted out loud without meaning to "dude I like that song..." Danny had no clue, but with the look from Derek that was shot to me, I knew he knew what was going on "No way Danny, that's a stupid song, Now day songs suck anyway" he said turning the station the the 90's station making Danny pretend to gag "ew 90's!" she exclaimed.

   I smiled and cranked up the stereo "Don't hate on one of the best!" I shouted over the loud song. Me and Derek did the drums, guitar, and vocals seeming that's all we could do in the car, but we did all we could to torture my dear sister. When we got home I went straight to my room, hah straight, and stayed there until dinner time came around or if I had to go to the bathroom really bad. I usually kept my phone in the kitchen turned off until the next day when I had to go to school so I wouldn't get distracted but this time I forgot to turn it off and Danny happened to get a glimpse of all of my conversations. By that I mean she hacked my phone. Little witch.  "I know everything going on in your relationship" she tried to brag so I decided to be a smart ass "Oh is that so?" she nodded smiling "Well please inform me, because I'm a bit behind" I give a fake pouting face and go back to my food, and she just stared bewildered at me.
