Chapter 10 New Hope

(Alpha Nicholas pov)

After checking on the trainees, I walk back to the pack house. Just as I round the corner, someone runs right in to me. 'Raven' I pull her into my chest to keep her from falling. She looks up at me as I look down at her. With my arms around her, I can feel and hear her heart beating so hard. Her face shows how embarrassed she is. She tries to pull away, and saying "I'm so sorry Alpha, Please for give me." My wolf holds onto her liking the closeness. I just stand there holding her our faces so close, I can feel her breath on my face. I know my wolf is at the surface. I try to push him back. She looks away, then I here a familiar voice. "Am I interrupting something?" I look over and let out a low growl in frustration. 'Kristy, she's lucky she's our sister' my wolf growls out. I say nothing. I let her go and walk away. Now it my turn to be embarrassed.

I walk into the pack house and to my office. I sit at the desk. My mind going a mile a minute. About what just happened. I know it's been a while but after my mate die and I lost the bond but all the memories were still there. It's been hard moving on. I know its been just as hard on Caden too.

The memorys of that night replays in my head.

It was a warm night. The girls were out at the pond swimming. It was just after sunset, so they were getting ready to come back to the house. When rogues showed up, there were about 20 of them. They took out their guards first and then went after the girls. By then they already called us for help. I can still hear my mate saying "Please! Please Nick hurry!" We ran as fast as we could. Then I heard her say "Nick, I love you always" right before this pain ripped though me. And the bond was gone! My wolf cried, but we keep up our pace. Then I heard the cries of my Beta (and best friend). When we got there it was a mess. Rogues were still attacking. My mate and Caden's mate were already dead and Kristy and 2 others girls were still fighting. Caden and I lost it. We slaughtered them. We ripped them into pieces all of them. We lost our Luna, our Beta female, and 10 of our guards/friends that day.

I don't think I will ever forgive myself for not being there in time. I don't know how to move on. But when Raven was in my arms it was the most alive my wolf and I have felt in a long time. I dont even know her but I want more! I need more! I let out another growl in frustration, and kept running my hands though my hair.

(Raven's pov)

I let Kristy pull me over to the truck. We get to the truck and Kristy asked the guys standing there if they could help carry my stuff to my room. One of the guys nods and starts to grab my stuff. The other walks over to us and says to Kristy

"What are you going to do for me?" She gives him a pointed look.

"Nothing if you don't get your butt moving. Maybe I'll just go home with Chad then because hes at lease helping." She smirks and starts to walk over to the guy pulling stuff out of the truck. The one she was talking to growls "Mine" and then grabs her and pulls her to him.

She starts to laugh "Okay! Okay! I get it." I can't help but laugh too. Then she looks at me.

"This is my mate, Keegan. He's a little possessive, But hes a good guy."

Keegan and Chad helped us get everything up to my new room. They help me get my laptop set up and my speakers. I pulled up my play list, then I notice Kristy looking over my shoulder

"Wow! You've got a lot of music. Pick something good."

"Ha! What are you talking about, there all good. I love music! It helps me to forget. Well, most of the time anyway."

"Well! Are you going to play something.

"Okay! Here I like this one." I play Fall Out Boy, Uma Thurman

We all take turns picking song for a few hours. It was the most fun I've ever had. I didn't want it to end. Kristy was helping me put my stuff away. She took my shampoo and walked in to my bathroom. She asked "What is this?" I looked in and seen I still had the towel hanging over the mirror. I grab it real quick and laugh nervously "Nothing"

"Raven!"

"Please Kristy! Don't."

I walk over and sat down at my laptop. But before she could say anything, there was a knock at the door.

"Come in!"

Just then a little petite girl walks in bows her head "Sorry to disturb you, but dinners ready!"

"Raven, this is Alex, she cooks some of the best food ever. Come on let's go!"

"Sorry, I'm not really hungry."

"Raven, you have to eat. We haven't ate all day."

"I know, I'm just not hungry yet!"

Just then Alex broke in saying "Alpha Nick won't be happy if you don't join us."

"Oh! Okay, I'm coming!"

As we all headed down to the dinning room, Kristy looks at me."We need to talk about it."

"No! Please just let it go!"

"But.."

"Please!"

"Okay! I'll let it go for now. But we need to talk about it sooner or later. Okay?"

"Okay."

When we walked into the dinning room, there were a lot of people around. Some turn and look at us. I never ate with anyone sense the one night our Alpha was away and the trio started making animal noises at me, a till I ran out crying. No one tried to make them stop or even said anything to our alpha. It was like it never happen. But we didn't have the rule that we all had to eat together. Thank goodness, because from that point on I never ate in front of anyone.

Now I'm here with people I don't even know and I'm suppose to eat. I feel so sick. I don't think I could eat even if I wanted to.

I see Alpha Nicholas and Caden talking. They both look my way, then they wave me over. I walk over but not sure what to say. Caden pulls out a chair and gesture for me to sit next to him. 'Great that makes it even better. How am i going to get out of this?' I sit down and he sit down. I looked at him, He gives me a weird look " Are you ok?"

"I'm just not really hunger and I'm tired"

"Why didn't you say so?"

" With everything you all have done for me I didn't want to make anyone mad or to offend anybody."

"It's okay, I'll walk you to your room."

"You don't have to do that. I can..."

Before I can protest any more he gets up and tells Alpha Nicholas, that hes going to walk me back to my room. Alpha Nicholas nods and then looks to me.

"You will need to meet me in my office tomorrow at 8 o'clock. Sleep well Raven."

"Yes Alpha!"

With that we walk out. As we make our way back to my room an uncomfortable silent fell over us. When we make it to my room, He asks again "Are you okay?"

"Yea, I'll be okay."

"No, I mean with everything. Are you okay? If you ever need someone to talk to I'm here. K"

I look at him a little shocked, "Okay! Thank you. For everything, I mean."

He gives me a smile and a nod and starts to walk away. As I open my door I hear Caden say my name. I look back

"If you need anything tonight let me know," he points to a door across from my "that's my room."

I smile and nod my head as I feel butterfly in my stomach "Thank you!"

Then I walk into my room. Alone again. I walk over to my laptop and turn on some music and put it on random. I put my pajamas on and crawl into bed. The bed is so soft and I actually fall asleep quickly.
