Chapter 2 Mates

Well now that I've turned 21, pack rules say ' That all wolfs that turn the age of 21 and thous who have not found there mate, must attend the mating ceremony that takes place on the full moon in October ' So just happens to be the 27th and of course my birthday is on the 17th. I really don't want to go but my wolf is screaming with excitement at the chance of getting to find our mate. Me, I'm scared. But I want her to be happy, so I find a really pretty dress and do my hair up and I even put a little bit of makeup on, but not to much. Did I mention 'I'm scared'

I pull up to the hall, we use it for all pack celebrations, I get out of the car and walk up to the door. I can all ready hear the music from inside. I love music! I can get lost it and forget about my troubles.

So I push my self though the door and there are a lot of people standing around. Some older, some my age, and when I look to the dance floor I see Lacy and Vic. "Oh shit" I mumble under my breath just as they look at me. I try to get away but next thing I know Lacy is in front of me and Vic is behind me. I turn not trusting Vic. She lets out a little chuckle, and I glare at her. Lacy smiles and says "Ah! The fat wolf think she's going to fine her mate." So I glare at her and say "Lacy can't you just leave me alone? I'm tired of fighting with you. It's time to grow up." I can see the anger in her eyes as they turn darker.

Just then Ella and Beta Josh comes walking up. I see they are holding hands. And I fell my wolf start to stir. Just as I go to say something. I hear a deep voice say "Mate" I turn to see Nathan our 3rd in command, standing there smiley looking at me. Then my wolf screams "Mate". Everyone around us went quiet. Just then I hear a low growl from the side of me and realized it was coming from Lacy. Then she gets this wicked smile on her face. I fill my heart drop.

Lacy starts to laugh and walks over to Nathan and puts her arm around him. I let out a little growl before saying "Back off my mate Lacy" She laughs again and then everyone else starts laughing. I look around and then back to Nathan with a pleading look. He just stands there shaking his head. Then it hits me, he is going to reject me because of them.

My wolf starts whimpering as I let out " Please don't do this. We are mates, and we're meant to be together " Then Lacy said to Nathan "Oh! You poor poor thing! There has got to be a mistake. To put someone like you with her. Yuk!! I fill so sorry for you! " Then everyone started laughing again. Then his eyes get darker and he looks at me with disgust. Just then I fill my heart shatter into a million pieces as he says "I Nathan Miller reject you Raven Arnold as my mate"
