"Who are you?" Fear's icy hand was clenched around your heart as the darkness pressed in on you.
"Someone and no one little girl." You spun around as tears fell down your face. Darkness pressed against you, crushing your chest and pushing all the air out of your lungs. You tried to scream but found you were unable to.
"N-no..!" Your eyes shut slowly as your body fell limp and you heard that dark laugh once more.
"My Lady!" You jolted awake and straight into someone's arms. Your immediate response was to kick out and you did so with terror in your heart. The figure moved back and you saw the dark shape that was your beloved demon.
"My lady," he looked wounded.
"I'm sorry, I had a bad dream." At this the demon relaxed and sat down once more, stroking the hair away from your pale face.
"There is nothing to fear," he said softly. "My Lady, I shall stay by your side until you fall asleep once more."
