Tray didn't know what to do.
Sure, he could call the cops and tell them the truth, but wouldn't he be betraying Kailee?
She was his friend, right? Were they really friends anymore?
Why did Kailee kill them? What reason did she have?
He bumped into someone and was sent into the floor.
"Hey!" Tray looked up to see Kailee, also on the floor and her books spread around too.
She looked up and when she saw him, her angry expression dissolved.
They stared at each other before Kailee spoke. "Sorry."
He kept staring, realizing that no matter how old she was, how innocent she looked, or how she used to be his friend, she was a killer. A murderer.
And he was sitting right across from her.
She gathered her things and the bell rang. Tray quickly scrambled to his feet to do the same.
She looked at him, almost guiltily. "Sorry again."
She walked away and he couldn't help but wonder if she was apologizing for bumping into him, or if she was apologizing because of the incident the other night.

Tray walked home, and stared at the dense woods. The wind blew around him, and he shuddered, but it wasn't because he was cold.
He could feel something in the air. Something dangerous. He glanced around, but didn't see anything and shook it off, passing it as paranoia.
He shuddered again, something sending shivers up his spine.
Another gust of wind whipped around him. He gritted his teeth and swung around.
Standing there was the same glowing green, skeletal dog he'd seen on the security cameras.
He didn't move.
"What do you want?" He ground out.
The demon stared, then cocked its head to the side like an innocent puppy.
It took a few steps toward Tray, but he backed away. Tray didn't trust it.
The dog stopped as its tail dropped in disappointment. It let out a small whine.
Tray was shocked. This demon acted like a normal dog except for the fact that it definitely didn't look like one.
Tray shook off his unease and fear, and took a brave step forward.
The demon looked at him, almost happily. It took a few steps toward Tray, and soon both of them were merely inches away from the other.
Tray bent down and looked the demon in the eyes. They were a pupil-less green, and it unnerved him, but he stood his ground.
Tray hesitantly put a hand on the demon's boney head, and was surprised when it didn't feel very different than a cold wall.
The dog breathed through its nose and green smoke came out.
It surprised Tray, but he kept the same distance between him and the dog.
The dog's skeletal tail wagged and a glowing green tongue stuck out.
"What are you?" Tray whispered to the dog. "And why do you insist on following me?"
The demon canine smiled almost humanly. A wave of emotions hit him.
Acceptance. Protection. Worry.
Tray seemed to realize they weren't his own. His eyes that had averted themselves from the demon's found their way back to their original position.
"Are you protecting me? Why do you worry?" Tray asked.
The dog sighed in something similar to annoyance.
"Look! I'm sorry I can't understand what you're trying to say. It's not like I'm used to this." Tray defended.
The demon shook its head and got up.
Denial of protection.
"You're not protecting me, are you? It's someone else." Tray realized.
The dog nodded. "Then why tell me?" Tray asked.
The dog smiled mysteriously.
The dog turned to green dust as the wind picked up and blew the dust away, almost hauntingly.
Tray blinked and then made his way on home.

Tray opened the door and walked up to his room, ignoring his mom's calls.
He logged onto the same camera the demon had disabled. Luckily, Tray fixed it.
He checked the same spot he saw the demon dog the first time. It was there, staring at the lenses again.
Tray expected the screen to fizzle out, but it didn't. The dog continued to stare.
Tray knew that it knew. Both knew that the other was watching them.
The dog didn't move, but blood appeared out of nowhere on the dog's bones and started to drip off of them.
More blood appeared and started to pour off of the dog.
The demon didn't seem to be bothered, but Tray watched, terrified, as it created a puddle in the grass around the dog, too much of the red liquid for the grass to soak up.
Then the microphones picked up sounds. He heard people scream. Kids, woman, men.
They echoed around the dog, but it didn't acknowledge the noises.
It kept staring at Tray through the camera, trying to tell him something.
He heard a girl's screech and her voice through the microphones. "Mommy! Daddy! Don't leave me! I didn't kill you! I didn't mean to! Please! Please!"
Tray knew it was Kailee, even though she sounded a lot younger. How did this demon know?
He stared at the screen, looking at the demon's eyes. It stared back, blood still pouring.
More screams echoed around the dog, but Kailee's was the loudest. "Stop! Make it stop! I didn't want this! I'm rejected by everyone! I didn't mean to! I didn't want to! Please! Why can't you make it stop?!"
The blood dissolved suddenly and the screams died down, but he could still hear the younger Kailee's cries. "This always happens! Why does it always happen?! Help me! I need help! If you turn your backs on me, who says you don't deserve to die?! I just want to be accepted! I'm not a monster! I'm not! Quit calling me that!"
Her voice stopped and Tray stared at the dog through the screen.
It looked at him with pleading eyes. It turned to green dust and wind blew it away.
Tray flipped off the camera, but didn't sleep that night.

Demon materialized in the room. Kailee turned around to look at him, lying on her side in bed.
"Where have you been, mister?" Kailee asked, teasingly.
The dog looked at her and emotions washed over Kailee.
Calmness. Denial of worry.
Kailee took that she didn't need to worry. "Okay. I'm going to bed. Night, boy." Kailee closed her eyes when Demon curled up next to her.
She didn't seem to notice that Demon was worried.
Demon didn't sleep that night.
Hope you liked this chapter! It's probably confusing right now, but it will become clearer in the future! New chapter soon! Bye my doggies!
