Tray was worried. Ever since Henry had called the dog 'boy', Tray hadn't seen him since.

Was the demon mad at them? Did 'boy' bring up bad memories? If so, why?

Tray turned the corner and dodged a few kids. It was Friday and Tray couldn't wait for the weekend.

He walked up the stairs and looked to his left to see Kailee.

She had her books up against her chest and looked away from him, avoiding his gaze.

Tray grit his teeth and silently cursed to himself. He was still angry at her for killing people and he was still deciding what to do, but ever since the demon had told him that she'd had no control, he'd been wanting to talk to her.

He stopped and grabbed Kailee's arm. She gasped and froze, her body going rigid.

"Demon? Demon! Where are you, boy?!" Eight year old Kailee called.

It'd been two years and both demons had done well on the streets. Kailee learned to pick pocket and Demon managed to scrounge up some food by hunting.

They were also able to feed on souls. Luckily, they didn't need them as often as regular food, so they could go for two weeks tops without them.

Tonight, Kailee was nervous. Demon had disappeared when Kailee woke up and he was nowhere to be seen.

"Demon! This isn't funny! I'm scared!" She cried.

She slowly got up and went toward the edges of the trees, out of the safety of the shadows.

She glanced around before going toward the town's lights. Maybe Demon was there.

She had gotten closer to the back of a building when someone grabbed her arm.

She gasped and spun around to face a man in his thirties. He looked mean, and drunk. His smile made her shiver, and not in a good way.

"Hey, kid. Are you lost? I could help you." He slurred.

"N-no. I'm fine. I was just...looking for my dog." Kailee replied.

"Oh, are you sure? If you're bored, I could play with you." He swayed slightly, the grip on her arm tightening.

"No! Let me go!" In Kailee's panic, she didn't have enough time to think about her demon strength. She was helpless.

"Hey!" He barked and slapped her across the face. "Quit struggling! I just want to have some fun!"

The slap didn't hurt, no, she'd had much worse, but it would leave a red mark, regardless.

He threw her small body to the asphalt and she screamed in terror. "Stop! Let go!"

He held her down and she cried.

"DEMON!"

The man heard a growl and turned around to face a demon dog.

Terror filled his bloodshot eyes and he stumbled off Kailee.

Kailee shot up and ran over to Demon. She hugged him around his neck and cried.

"What the hell?!" He yelled.

Demon stepped forward after Kailee let go and snarled.

"Nobody messes with me and gets away with it! Demon, siccum!" Kailee cried.
