Chapter 24

Months had passed, and surprisingly, nothing much had changed after Slide's discovery.

Everything went on as it had before, besides the fact that Slide was a little bit more wary of Kailee, not because of fear, but because he had vowed to keep a watchful eye on her, for her safety.

"Ugh...where am I and why do I feel like someone punched the back of my skull?" Tray groaned.

He looked around to see that he was chained to a wall next to Henry and Will, in a small, dark room.

"What?! Help! Someone help!" Tray panicked, realizing that they must have been kidnapped.

A door slammed open in response and he turned to see a woman with brown hair and green eyes. She was smirking.

"Yelling won't help, dear. These walls are sound proof and perfectly stable. You won't be going anywhere. Not even when Kailee gets here." She laughed.

"Kailee? Who are you and what do you want with Kailee and us?!" Tray growled, pulling at the chains.

"What do I want?" She asked, then glared. "I was raped by that horrid demon and had that devil child you call your 'friend'. I will kill her, and I will have my revenge."

"Kill her?! If she's your daughter, then why?! She didn't do anything wrong!" Tray barked.

"She devours souls, dear." The woman glared at him. "The definition of her is wrong."

"You won't get away with this!" Tray yelled.

"But I already have. You see, I have the Demon Orb. And once I make her kill you, I'll let go of her, and she'll be in so much despair, she'll kill herself. Emotional torture was always worse than physical. Maybe if I'm lucky, she'll go insane." The woman laughed.

"You stupid-" Tray was cut off.

Will and Henry groaned, waking up.

"Well, I must be going now. Goodbye." She walked out and slammed the iron door behind her.

"This can't be happening." Tray muttered.

Kailee rubbed her eyes and stretched as she woke up.

She blinked and swung her feet over her bed.

She caught a glimpse of white and looked at her desk to see a note.

She picked it up and scanned it.

'I have your friends and if you want to save them, demon girl, then come to this address, and maybe I'll let them live.'

Kailee quickly read the address and pulled on her clothes.

"Demon! The guys have been kidnapped! We have to go!" Kailee demanded.

Demon jerked awake and quickly transformed. Kailee followed.

"Let's go." Her echoey voice demanded.

Kailee raced to the edge of the town, Demon on her heels, as they reached the run down warehouse.

"Why do people always use warehouses?" She wondered aloud, before shaking it off and getting on with the mission at hand.

"Come on, Demon. This person will be prepared for us and we have to be prepared for them." She instructed.

Demon followed Kailee inside.

Tray, Will and Henry, who were now awake, were placed in the middle of a large, slightly lit up room that was more dark than anything. The windows reflected some sunlight, but not much.
