This is another photo made by NerdyRosie! Had to wait for another chapter to get it up, so here you go! On to the chapter!
Henry followed the figure. It confused him, that the demon dog was glowing, and the girl still couldn't be seen behind the shadows.
"So, do you have a name?" Henry questioned.
The girl kept walking, but he saw her falter when he asked. "I do."
"...Can you tell me what it is?" Henry hesitantly asked, seeing her falter from before.
"I prefer to keep all questions for a later moment in time, thank you." She said.
"What's your dog's name?" Henry asked, feeling slightly more confident now that the girl showed no harmful intentions.
"That was a question, baka." He imagined her rolling her eyes when he heard the slightly miffed tone.
"Baka?" Henry questioned.
The girl huffed and seemed to realize Henry wasn't going to stop asking questions.
"It's Japanese. I picked it up while my dog and I were in Japan." She answered, while Henry noted that she tried to steer clear of speaking the dog's name.
Henry didn't question it, considering she was a demon, after all. She probably had teleporting powers or something.
"Okay, but what does baka mean?" Henry asked again.
The girl didn't say a thing for a few minutes as they kept walking, and Henry started to think she wasn't going to answer.
"...It means idiot." As she said this, she sped up, going farther ahead.
"Hey!" Henry shouted, his pride wounded slightly as he rushed to keep up with her.

"Why can't I see you?"
"What's that supposed to mean?" The girl asked.
Henry shrugged. "Your dog is glowing, and standing right next to you. It confuses me as to how I can't see you when he's like a lantern."
"I am able to control shadows to my will, enabling for me to hide easily, even in the light. It has proved quite useful before, if I do say so myself." She answered.
"How powerful are you exactly?" Henry asked, curious as the girl seemed to have more abilities than she let on.
"Not sure. Not too much, I hope. I've heard power can go to human's heads. Being a demon, it is probably 10x the risk."
Henry didn't seem to want to ask anything anymore after that.

"We're here!" The demon girl sang.
Henry jumped as he was jolted out of his thoughts. "Oh. So, what kind of answers are you going to give me?"
"You must promise not to tell your friend, Will. None of what I tell you must leave your mouth to anyone. Understood?" Henry could feel her gaze piercing through him.
"Yeah. Not to Will. Not to Tray. Not to anyone!" Henry nodded quickly.
"Well, Tray you can tell. He's an exception." The demon girl's black figure shrugged.
"What? Why?" Henry asked, confused at this.
"Cause, I already know." A male voice echoes behind him.
Henry twisted around to face Tray.
"What?! Somebody better explain this to me!" Henry growled.
"Don't worry." Henry faced the demon girl again to see the shadows pour off of her, revealing herself.
"Kailee?!?"

"So, you're telling me that your half demon," Henry pointed to Kailee. "Your a demon dog that can take a normal form," He pointed to Demon. "You knew about this for two weeks," He pointed to Tray. "And you killed all of your families on accident because you feed on human souls?" Henry finished by pointing at Kailee again.
"Yep! That's the short version!" Kailee smiled happily, Demon nestled beside her, both in their normal forms.
"Can I...uh...see your...demon form?" Henry asked Kailee.
"If you want, I guess." Kailee shrugged.
The ends of her hair turned to blue fire, her eyes turned to a complete pitch black, no pupils or whites, all of her teeth turned to fangs, and her skin turned slightly more pale.
"This is me." Kailee did jazz hands and her voice echoed.
"Cool." Henry gaped.
"I beg to differ. Devouring human souls on a weekly basis is annoying, and plain wrong." Kailee narrowed her black eyes.
"I meant your demon form." Henry raised a brow.
"Oh!" Kailee blushed and it turned her cheeks black.
"You blush black?" Tray asked, never seeing this before.
"I'm blushing black?" Kailee asked. "I've never blushed in demon form before so I wouldn't know."
"Anything else?" Henry asked.
"I cry blood, but as far as I know, that's it." Kailee answered, shrugging helplessly.
"Can I go home now?" Henry asked.
Kailee and Tray laughed, Kailee's tone echoing.
"Whatever, dude. See you tomorrow." Tray waved.
"Bye!" Henry called as he raced toward home.

"Henry Rasle Jackson! Where have you been?!" His dad scolded.
"My friends finally told me the secret they've been keeping. That's all." Henry answered.
He sat down at the dinner table and poured himself a glass of milk.
"Yah. That's all."

Kailee woke up in a cold sweat for the second time in the past three days.
She didn't have a nightmare this time, but she felt something evil and dark approaching. Something bad was coming, and fast.
Demon whimpered beside her and Kailee made eye contact with her dog.
"You feel it too, don't ya?" She guessed.
Demon nodded.
Fear.
"I know, boy. I hate to admit it, but I am too." Kailee whispered and hugged Demon.
Both agreed it was just paranoia, and snuggled back into the bed.
They both fell back to sleep. Despite convincing themselves there was nothing to dwell over, dark thoughts still plagued their minds.

Meanwhile...
"I got the item you needed. Where's my pay?"
"You don't get any." A gunshot was heard.
A body fell limply to the floor.
"You've had your fun, girlie. It's my turn to have some fun!" The voice chuckled and maneuvered the red and black orb in her hands.
"Yes, you'll do nicely. It's a pity, really. The poor demons won't know what hit them."
An evil laugh filled the air.

Two demons, miles away in a foster home, felt a dark shiver pass through their bodies like electricity, as they slept.
