There were few who shared Kailee and Demon's condition.

Sure, plenty of demons were evil, and though shocking, a good handful were good, too.

Very few were stuck in the middle.

Unfortunately, Kailee and Demon were two of those few, cursed, even as the Devil's creations.

Soul eating was a curse among the good and a blessing among the evil.

Soul eating was a rare thing. Kailee and Demon were two out of the three that had the curse, and they didn't even know if the third was still alive.

The third could have most likely been evil, having Demon and Kailee be the only ones stuck in the gray area, between good and bad.

They had good intentions, they meant well, really they did, but their instincts and survival skills thrived on evil intentions, to take away precious lives the Lord gave humans.

Kailee and Demon were the cursed ones, stuck between the fine line of good and evil, never being able to choose sides.

Together, they made discord, practically the upside down beings of Hell and Heaven combined.

"I can't believe this." Kailee rubbed her temples. "If I had a dream about that orb, than what's going to happen? Am I actually going to be forced against my will?"

Tray took note on her nervous, shaky tone. "Don't worry, Kay. I'm not going to say everything will be fine, just because of the fact that when people say that, it's a complete load of bullsh*t, but I do know one thing. We'll keep an eye out, and we'll stick together."

Kailee smiled and nodded. "Right. Thanks, Tray."

Tray turned to grab his backpack and go home when Kailee stopped him.

"Wait." Kailee blurted.

"What?" Tray asked, turning to face the half demon again.

"If I do end up being controlled, if I end of hurting people deliberately, killing for fun, even against my own will, kill me. Please." Kailee instructed the boy.

"No. I'll get you out of the control. I'll destroy the orb and I'll help you." Tray insisted. "If that happens."

"But if you can't, if it's impossible, kill me. I'm stuck between the fine line of good and evil, Tray. I'm a messed up person, ripped apart by evil doings and then stitched messily together with good intentions. I'm just a ripped and stained doll. My soul looks as if a five year old boy tried to stitch me back up. He pricked himself too many times, staining me with my fair share of blood. He forgot to stitch my hands on, leaving me useless to stop my own habits. He made me look disfigured and beaten, so people turn their backs  and very few see the true me. I'm a puppet, a messed up puppet in a clueless boy's hands. I never seem to have any control over myself now. What will happen if that orb is used on me?"

"If I end up going completely insane, I don't want to live like that. I don't want to be someone's puppet. What I would want, is for you to kill me."

"But-"

"Please." She begged. "If you are my friend, you will kill me if that happens."

Tray hesitated, but reluctantly nodded. "I promise."
