I would like to give credit to my sister, @CreepyStalker324 for this picture. She is the one who made it for me, specifically for this chapter. The dog itself is from the movie, Cabin, I think. The glowing eyes and smoke is all of her long and hard editing. Another thing, I know Demon is brown and black, but we had to make do. Thanks! On with the chapter!

Demon's eyes burned a toxic green, glowing with green smoke seeping out. His fur and skin slowly peeled back, revealing bone while blood poured off. (Picture at beginning)

This horrified Ford, Dipper, Wendy, and Mabel. They had never seen Demon transform, so they hadn't expected something this gruesome to be the result.

The bones glowed the same toxic green his eyes did, and the edges of his body blurred slightly. Green smoke streamed from his nose as he growled.

Ford backed away, suddenly realizing his choice of words were not the correct ones.

"Demon! Wait! It's fine, he didn't mean-" Henry tried to reason with the demonic canine, but the dog wouldn't have it.

"We're not murderers!" Demon howled again as he lunged.

The shift in events happened too fast for any of the people who had just been dragged into this to even begin to comprehend, but the boys had seen this one too many times. It, admittedly, frightened them just as much, if not more, since they knew the damage Demon could cause if provoked.

If none of them stopped Demon soon, Ford might not be alive to help anymore.

The commotion caused the girl to awake, blinking, wary to the new surroundings that she saw.

"What? Where am I?" She asked. When her senses finally came back to her, her ears picked up screaming, yelling, barking and growling.

She bolted upright, dizziness quickly clouding her vision and a headache accompanied it.

She cursed under her breath, trying to remember she was very sick and couldn't move too much.

Her head slowly turned to look at the chaos.

She watched as Demon lunged toward an unfamiliar man. "Demon! Wait! It's fine, he didn't mean-" Henry screamed.

It seemed that these people were going to help them. She couldn't have that.

"Demon! Down boy!" Kailee commanded.

Demon stopped and whipped his head to stare at Kailee, the rest in the room doing so as well.

"Kailee? You're awake!" Demon happily barked and trotted over to her, demon form still activated.

"You can talk now?" Kailee asked. "That's cool."

"I know, right?" Demon licked her cheek, green slobber coating it.

She wiped it away. "You guys are going to cure us, aren't you?" She faced the man and the three other new kids.

"Yes. That was our original goal." The older man slowly said. "I'm Ford. This is Wendy, Dipper, and Mabel." He introduced her, pointing to each of them.

"Cure Demon. Leave me to die." Kailee demanded.

"Kailee!" Demon howled in shock.

"Kay! Why would you say that?!" Tray's eyes were wide. Henry and Will looked the same.

"Don't you see?" She quietly spoke. "Demon did nothing to deserve this. He deserves to live a happy life, with no worries. My crappy past brought all of this on, and it will keep doing so. I must die if it means keeping all of you safe. Demon doesn't have to die. He'll do so, being loyal and my best friend." Kailee sadly looked over to her dog, his eyes wide with shock and sadness. "But I also see him as my best friend, so I won't allow him to be dragged down with me. And you guys!" She looked to Henry, Will and Tray. "You had normal lives before I ruined them. You didn't have to go through all of this if it wasn't for me. If I'm dead, you can live, safe and happy. Besides, I'm a soul sucking murderer. It would be best for all of us if I just died."

"No!" Demon barked, fury evident. "That's not practical! You're not a murderer! You didn't want to be like this, it isn't your fault! And even if you die, I'll still exist! I'll still have to devour souls to stay alive!"

"But you won't have to live in worry!" She cried.

"I will always have to live in worry! I am a demon! A soul devouring demon! I will always have to worry about being exposed! If you die, I won't be able to bear it! I will happily throw myself onto a spike! If you decide to die, then I'm going with you, whether you like it or n-" Demon coughed, blood spewing out, hitting the floor.

Kailee cried, tears streaming down her face. Blood slowly dropped from her mouth and her tears slowly turned to blood.

"I don't want any of you to be hurt ever again by me!" She sobbed.

Will glared. "We weren't hurt by you! We were hurt by that bi*ch of a mother! Demon and you are good people, Kailee. You may be demons, but that doesn't define who you are, only what. Don't give us this crap! We would never forgive ourselves if you were to die!"

Tray raced over, putting his hands on her shoulders. "I will never be happy to live, Kay, if it means you gave your life for me to do so. None of us will be happy. Maybe we might be safer, but dammit, I don't want safety! I want you to live! I want to see you go back to school with us! I want to see the math teacher yell at you for spacing out! I want to see you chase Demon across the rooftops again when you got mad at him! I want to see you fall on your face into the snow during winter! I want to see you get mad at me when I barge into your room without knocking! I want to see the flames of your hair again, the sharp teeth, the pale skin and black eyes! And I want to for as long as I live! And I can't see all of that if you're dead! Don't die, Kay! Please don't die!" Tray fell to his knees, hands covering his face, and sobbed. "I can't watch you die, Kay. It will tear my heart apart."

"Why?" She asked. "Why do you insist on keeping me, a demon that could easily kill all of you by accident or on purpose, alive?"

Henry and Will spoke in sync. "Because you're our family, and our best friend."

Tray hesitated, but spoke. His reason was different. "Because I love you."

Gosh, I'm a horrible person! So originally, Tray was never going to love Kailee and Kailee was never going to love Tray. It was going to be strictly friends only. As you've all seen throughout the story, Tray seemed to be the one to be closer and more passionate towards Kailee. Also, Henry and Will liked to joke about Tray and Kailee dating, but both of the latter denied it, and clearly stated that they were only in a platonic relationship. It was made obvious they did not view one another that way and they were both okay with that. As it progressed into chapters, it seemed as if he really did love her. Now, I didn't want Henry or Will to seem like they don't care all that much, but they do, so making Tray love Kailee just made more sense. I hope this doesn't confuse you. Bye my doggies!
