the summer (a Mikey Fusco Love Story)

chapter 5

"So your name's Kalen." Mikey said obviously a little mad that I had told him other wise.

"You wouldn't tell me yours, so I wasn't gonna tell you mine. " i said laughing but he looked pissed. Probably because he had told everybody that he had liked lauren.

"Ok, what I really wanted to talk to you about was your dancing today."

Yep. I saw that one coming. I danced terrible today, there was no way i would be put in ICONic girlz

"Ya I know, I don't know what happened." i said looking back on my dance."but oh well, I guess." I sat down on the bench that I had first been humilated on and put my head into my hands and let a tear fall.

"I'm so dissapointed in myself." I said heading back into ICON because I certainly didn't want to talk to Mikey anymore. I mean I barely knew him and he was acting like my Best Friend.

"Results are posted" GEO announced and a herd of screaming girls and boys(surprisingly) ran towards me.

"We made it." Alexis screamed and hugged Sarah.

Feeling disappointed I waited until everybody had cleaned out of the building to go check the list.

There was my name. Not under ICONic Girlz, but under fundamental class.

I know the fundementals. I don't need this.

"You have potential, kid." GEO came up from behind and patted me on the back. I faked a smile

I stepped out towards the door "more than you'll ever know." I whispered when he was out of range.

Sarah and Alexis were waiting outside the doors for me.

"Were sorry," Alexis said patting my shoulder

"I didn't try my best, so I didn't deserve it." I said turning to look at Mikey who had been listening in on our conversation. "Goodbye. I better go home, but maybe we can hang out sometime?" I said to Alexis and Sarah.

"Don't you want a ride home?" Mikey asked.

"No, I'm good." I said wanting to walk home to get some fresh air and think.

I could have had that spot. I should've had that spot. I'm so stupid, and now i'm stuck in the beginner

s class.

I got home and told Ashton everthing. Mikey and tryouts and my new friends.

Home.

I actually considered this place home now. With Steven always on business trips, Ashton and I have actually bonded. It's not that bad here. I wonder what made her want to take me in anyway. It's not like she wanted me here. She would be totally fine without me.

I went home and did what I always did when I am depressed. Make myself hideous and socially unnacceptable. Sweat Pants, T-shirt, crazy hair, and junk food. In fact once, when my boyfriend broke up with me I went home sat in my room with junk food and watched The Notebook 21 times. I didn't leave my room for like 10 days straight. I would have never came out of room if it weren't for Hannah and Mckay. They could always cheer me up, no matter the situation. I really hope that Sarah,Alexis, and I can become good friends.

"Kalen get the door." Ashton yelled probably from the bathroom where she was getting ready to go on a date tonight with Steven.

I shut my laptop and took my ice cream with me . On the way to the door I stopped in the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I was a mess. Sweat pants, no bra, a blanket wrapped around me and ice cream in hand.
