"Honey come see the St. Louis Arch." My mom yelled from outside the car.

"Mom, I was just staring at it for like ten minutes, now can you get back in the car." I begged for the seventh time. They had been literally staring at that arch for 30 minutes. We were almost half way through the country and I was eager to get home.

The entire way here I was thinking of how foolish I was for not even saying goodbye to Mikey. He and I both at least deserved that, course he probably didn't want a goodbye anyway.

"Fine, Fine, let's go hon." She yelled at my dad who was taking pictures from his new Iphone that he had no clue how to use. They both got in the car and we took off.

I honestly swear my parents cannot work a radio. My mom flipped to the first station.

'Call me maybe' was on and I was not listening to that.

"Change it."

'Blurred lines was on the next station.

"Change it." said

"This is a good one." She yelled and rolled down her window. She blew her audience a kiss at the words 'good girl.'

"Mom stop."

She finally changed the station and 'Summertime Sadness' came on.

"Can we just turn the radio off?" I asked because that song brought back memories.

"God Honey, if we knew you were gonna be so pissy we would left you in Jersey." She said looking back at me.

"If I knew you would leave me in Jersey, I would have been pissier." I rested my head on the window. If only it was that easy.

When I woke up I was the only one in the car. I could already tell that we were in Kansas City, because last time I was in Kansas City, let's just say it was memorable.

It was dark out and we were parked in the parking lot of a nice hotel. I checked my phone and it was 8:00.

I stumbled out of the car and on to my feet. I slowly walked across the parking lot and into the building.

I found my way into the building and to the front desk.

"Hi, welcome to the Kansas City Sheraton" She said with a friendly smile.

"Hi, ummm,, I'm looking for my parents. " I said really confused.

"Kalen, right?" She asked making me wonder why my parents couldn't just wake me up.

I nodded.

"Room 560." She said handing me a keycard. "Top floor."

I walked slowly over to the elevator and waited. I was really confused but not at the same time, because my parents do things like this all the time.

The elevator stopped and made a ding sound.

I shifted position as about 10 boys piled out of the elevator without stopping to look for anyone. I fell to my butt dropping my keycard into the trash.

One of the taller boys turned around and noticed me. He was wearing a swimsuit and was obviously going to the pool.

"Sorry about that." He reached his hand out offering to help me up. He was really cute, he had a great body, and was nice.

His dark green eyes looked into mine as I grabbed his hand and he helped me up.

"Thank you." I said quietly.
