Chapter 49

A/N: I'm sorry it's been soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long. I've also been trying to keep up on some other stories also, by the way go check them out. What was this dark side anyway? It was like I was standing so close to the edge without even knowing it. How could I stay away from the edge if I didn't know where it is.

I paced the length of Alexis' room as she continued to get dressed.

and now.....not only did I have that to worry about, I also had Vinny to worry about. Did Alexis know? Should I tell her? no.

"Alexis, there's just too much going on. Choices, decisions, anguishing, heart breaking decisions."

"Well I hope you don't mind that invited Mikey and Vinny to our girl's day out." She laughed as she made the face every girl did as they put on their mascara.

"Actually I do care....What the hell Alexis?"

"Sorry. Sorry. I just thought it would be more fun."

"Really? " I took a seat and exhaled, "I call you and say that I need a day away from Mikey, and what do you do? " I stood up angrily and starting pacing again, "You invite Mikey! Good Hell." I squeezed my eyes shut and took a deep breath "You know what, never mind, I'm sorry."

"Ready?" She asked powdering her face.

"I'm been ready since I got here."

"well what are we waiting for?"

We laughed and headed to the mall. When we got there my mind immediantly flashed to the first time I had been to that mall. Ashton and I were shopping when she went ahead and embarassed me in front of Mikey.

"Sooooo...."

"So what?"

"Sooo where are they?"

"Ummm....right there!" She shouted and ditched me to hug Vinny. Vinny's face was illunmunited by his smile and he picked her up and spun to. It looked like a scene from a movie when the military husband comes home from serving. I almost expected tears from Alexis.

and then there was Mikey. I couldn't even make eye contact. The words from yesterday lingered in my mind, haunting at every second. I need you to break up with Spencer. Facing him was gonna take ten times the courage I had.

"Hey" He smiled and wrapped his arms around my waist. Unwillingly I was moved closer to him because if I had stood my ground it would have made it worse. He pulled my head to his chest and pressed his lips against my forehead.

"Mikey, I need to tell you something. I couldn't do it, I couldn't break up with Spencer." I admitted looking up into his eyes. I honestly would have preferred a more private setting for this conversation but I just couldn't go all day pushing the thought away.

"Kalen..." He trailed off, breaking the eye contact between us.

"Mikey, I'm sorry. I just really need someone to talk to about this situation first. Can you come over later?"

"Ya no problem. I'll even break the news to him." He said letting me go and throwing a punch into the air.

"But...." I tried speaking to him but he was already in deep conversation with Vinny.

"Where to first?" Alexis asked excitedly.

"Can we go get some ice cream?"

"Ya sure, I'll pay." Mikey offered.

We got our ice cream and sat down.

"C'mon cheer up buttercup." Mikey said moving my head to rest on his shoulder.

"It's too hard Mikey. I love you but....but it's too hard."

"C'mon smile." He said grabbing my cheeks and squeezing them toward each other. He smiled and then kissed my fishy lips. "I'm gonna keep doing this until you smile." He kissed me again, and this time I couldn't help myself but smile. "There we go." He said kissing me again for the heck of it. His hugged me and a took breath of his sweet smell. "Now cheer up."

"How....do.....you....like it?" I said between laughs as I squeezed his cheeks and kissed his lips.

"Actually I do. Because you're laughing, and that's all I need to be happy." He smiled and I let go of his face.

We all laughed at each other and continued to eat our ice cream.

"Hey Vin, you got a little something on your nose." Alexis said pointing to the strawberry ice cream on his nose.

"You mean this?" He said eskimo kissing her.

"ya that." She laughed wiping the ice cream off her nose.

"Well do you guys want to go home now or actually shop?"

"I'm cool with whatever." Vinny said devouring the rest of Alexis' ice cream.

"Actually...." Mikey said.

"What, you wanna go shop?" Alexis said teasing him.

"Actually, I want to buy you a dress for our date tomorrow night." He said putting his arm around me.

I smiled and blushed.

"Have about this one?" Mikey said holding up a silk black dress that I knew for certain I couldn't pull off. It was teeny and barely covered anything.

"Umm no thank you." I said eyeing the dress. "But you know when I'm working the corner that dress might come in handy." I said and the store clerk gave me an evil look.

"Okay." He laughed and put it back. His face lit up as he pulled out a dress. "Put it on."

I smiled and walked into the changing room. It was a beautiful dress really. It was a light pink high low dress. The front went down about 4 inches above my knee and the back to right below my knee.

I tried it on and it fit perfectly.

"Ready?" I questioned to see if Mikey was even waiting for me.

No response.

I walked out and spotted Mikey a few yards away facing the other way. I snuck up and hugged him from behind.

"You...you look beautiful." He smiled and spun me around."I'm buying you this one."

"Thank you Mikey."

"Anything for you."
