"Can I just say something?"
"What is it, Katherine?"
"It's like...there are tons of guys here."
"...and..."
"I just never noticed before."
"Is this a ploy to make me come home?"
"More like a loaded observation."
"I see. How are classes, are you sticking with the ones you chose?"
"I dropped Macro, and took Human Sex with Knopf."
"Aw, she's awesome."
"Yeah, the syllabus is...interesting."
"Ah..."
"Wish you were here?"
"I always do. In fact, this has inspired me to write an essay about the psychology at work during long distance relationships."
"I think that's a fantastic idea."
"I'm sorry I brought it up."
"It's okay."
"So, have you met any of the new guys?"
"Well, Gabriel's made a bunch of freshman friends on the team so they sit with us now."
"Anyone cool?"
"There's this one guy that seems worthwhile, friend-wise, you know?"
"Why's he worthwhile?"
"He works at the SPCA, and he's got nice eyebrows."
"Mm."
"But, um...you can...trust me, you know?"
"I know, Katherine."
"Have any girls showed up naked at your door?"
"Um, no, not yet. One of my professors though, she's so pretty. I'm just kind of, in awe every time I see her. And I answered a question in class and she smiled at me super proud."
"Awe, I'm so proud of you."
"Thanks dear."
