"Oh, yeah great going Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. Applause." Gabriel snarls at two freshman looking slightly less than fresh. "Do you know how important this game is? Did that ever occur to you? You're benched."
He's carrying his athletic bag and looks angrier than I've ever seen him. He walks away, and they trail after him looking nauseous.
"Freaking alcoholics." He says to me, in passing, and I walk a little faster to keep up with him.
"You can bench people?"
"I can do whatever I want." He still looks mad.
Abby is sitting on a bench outside of the soccer complex, and stands up when we're walking towards her.
"Hey, what's wrong?" She asks, draping her arms around his neck and in a hug. He hugs her back with his face pressed to her hair and her arms around her waist.
"Hungover players."
"Oh..."
I leave them in their happy couple bubble and text Cam about fall.
